I had a very bad experience here. I don't really fancy those little burgers but my boyfriend likes them and since he rarely gets treated to them, I decided to indulge him when he suggested going there; we were both hungry.
We both ordered six little burgers. (They are mini burgers) I don't like onions even a little bit so I ordered mine without them. We got our burgers in separate bags, and when he (my boyfriend) asked her which ones were without onions she pointed out, with attitude, the bag that did not have onions, so I grabbed that bag and he grabbed the other.
While walking to the car, I looked in the bag and saw onions everywhere. He then checked his bag and it also had onions. I really can't take those little onion bits, especially raw, as they are.
We walked back in and I told her about my order having onions. Her reply was, "No it doesn't!".
I was a little taken aback and told her, "Yes, I am looking right at them", to which she responded "Oh, well we don't make them without onions so we scraped most of them off".
I told her I couldn't eat them like that. She just looked at me and said, "Oh well".
I then told her I was allergic to onions and she said, in a very belligerent tone, "Fine then, I'll give your money back!" (I would have taken more burgers if she had offered to make them without onions.)
My boyfriend had only been an observer up to that point, chimed in. I don't remember everything he said but it started out with "Are you kidding?" and something about not making them without onions. She started yelling at him and then a shouting match was on between them.
She acted in a threatening manner, as if she was going to "come over the counter". Finally, not wanting to add to the situation, he went out of the store, which I was glad of.
I, who had remained calm the whole time, calmly asked her to please proceed to refund me. She muttered, "Y'all screaming and cursing at me". Calmly I reminded her that I had not done either.
She finally gave me a refund for my six burgers and as she turned she said "I hope y'all never come back here." I thought to myself that we certainly would not.
I would like to point out that there was another couple in the store who left without ordering when they heard her say they just scrape the onions off.
Factor #1 I find it hard to believe they do not make them without onions. I believe she did not want to make more.
Factor #2 By scraping anything off, they are handling the food more than what is necessary.
Factor #3 This whole ordeal made me think that their food is not fresh but prepared ahead of time and sitting...
Read moreUpdate 3/5/23 My husband thought we should try it again. I’m glad we did. We were greeted promptly upon entering the door, and the clerk was ready and anxious to take our order. My husband was still disappointed that there were no corn pups. And no shakes! The burgers were fantastic with just the right amount of mustard, pickles and onions. The bread was fresh. The “new” fries were hot, fresh and good, and I don’t even like fries much. Service was quick and friendly. We encountered three employees, and each was friendly. The only real negative was the conversation we heard between the employees with one yelling at another to get back to the drive thru window, including multiple profanities in the brief sentences.
I realize that profanity is widely accepted in our current culture and can be heard in practically any public place, but it is still very unprofessional in a place of business/workplace, especially when it can be heard by customers. Overall, much improved since our last visit! P.S. Cost was inexpensive for the quality and much more reasonable than other popular fast food places.
Dirty. Carpeted floor in dining area looks disgusting. Krystal burgers were OK despite looking like they were just thrown together. They no longer have corn pups. Krystal Chicks have changed to a pre-formed patty that does not even look good. My husband took a bite or two and refused to eat the rest, saying they were nasty. Customer service was not good. Employees acted as if it was an inconvenience to wait on anyone. Wait was too long for fast food. Two customers after us said they waited 20-25 minutes for burgers and fries. One of those orders had the burgers not dressed correctly and had to be replaced. Customer complained and was told that they had a lot of drive-thru orders ahead of hers. Shut down at about 12:50, saying they were closing for the day in 10 minutes. Another customer came back in with her drive-thru order and said her burgers were “white”. She was told she would have to come back when a manager was present, but the staff decided to cook her some Krystal Chicks instead, at her request. I’ve been eating at Krystal when near one as far back as I can remember in my childhood. I don’t think I’ll ever want to come to this location again. Also, I do not normally give negative reviews, but this one is definitely deserved. At this rate, I do not see how it will remain...
Read moreMy rating would be 0 if possible. Don't waste your time! We do not live near a krystal burger so while we were on a trip to South Louisiana we drove an hour out of the way to the Slidell location. There were 3 cars in the drive thru and When I approached the counter the employee, Star, said that she was closing the restaurant and she was extremely rude. I was shocked because It was well within the hours of operation, It was about 1 pm on a Monday and Star and another employee were making burgers. So i was confused as to why she wouldn't serve us. I explained that we'd gone far out of our way and even changed our route completely just to visit this location and asked very nicely if she would be willing to make us even just 2 of the small burgers for our trouble and before i could even offer to pay for a meal, even though I wouldn't even receive the entire meal, she interrupted me and was very rude and said that she was closing the store and refused service. Anytime we go out of town, we visit krystal burger, even if we have to go out of our way to do so. We loved Krystal burger ahs its Bryn somewhat of a road trip tradition until now. This franchise should definitely be sold to someone that runs their business professionally or this employee should be fired because of how extremely rude Star was to us that day. If this is what Krystal Burger stands for then we will make sure to never visit another location, along with informing friends and family of how horribly we were treated. I assure you, we were nothing but nice and polite even after how badly we were treated. If Star doesn't want to be bothered by paying customers, then perhaps she shouldn't work there. After posting my experience and then reading other reviews im shocked that this has been going on for as long as it has. I promise I will be getting in contact with corporate and the local...
