Adventures In Metal DetectingAdventures In Metal Detecting
This was a very disappointing meal after having a few good ones at this restaurant. First thing we walk into the building and the floor is wet throughout. Granted it was raining outside that day, but I would have expected that they would have had some sort of fans blowing to dry the floor at least in the entryway in the main walkway. Makes the tile in there very slippery and I had my wife and mother-in-law along my mother-in-law's not too sure-footed at her age so the slippery floor was double trouble for us. The food was OK, nothing I would send back to the kitchen, but nothing I'd write home about either. I also ordered the $6 take home deal that they're doing and got fettuccine alfredo. It didn't occur to me at the table that it was cold like it had come out of a refrigerator. But when I got home and opened it a couple of days later and realized that it was just a blob of alfredo sauce thrown on top of a bed of pasta and not mixed in I was extremely disappointed with it. The only shining star in the meal was our server who was a real comedian but took extremely good care of us. I don't remember his name but it was something like Yaz. So needless to say this is not the Olive Garden of a year or so ago, they have really gone downhill in our eyes. I just had a conversation with my wife while she was on her way to work and we decided that until things improve there we're not going to go back in. It's really sad because it used to be a good restaurant. Also it used to be considerably cheaper even in this current administration's economic state where the cost of everything is going up, theyl seem to have gone up more. So Olive Garden, especially the one on North Shore Boulevard in Slidell, get your head out and get things right and ee will be back but you've only got one more chance with us.

What happened to what used to be my favorite chain restaurant? Food has gone wayyyyyyyyyy downhill. Our salad, for starters was old, wilted and full of onions even though I said "No onion, please" ...next, I got a chicken parmesan lunch with Alfredo sauce on the spaghetti instead of marinara. The sauce tasted like ketchup and the chicken was like jerky. My son got Chicken Parm also, but got marinara sauce, he said the same, ketchup sauce. We didn't eat it and waitress took our plates without asking if something was wrong. She probably knew. Husband got unlimited soup salad and bread sticks, he got chicken gnocchi first, which he sent back because it tasted funny and zuppa toscana next which looked watered down, he said it was tasteless. He asked for a fresh salad having given up on eating soup, and we were given another wilted salad. We've never experienced a complete failure at olive garden...first time for everything. Not sure I can give them another shot. This was not worth any money.

Came in for a late dinner. Had the eggplant Parmesan (with alfredo). Fettuccine Alfredo was the other entree. We also ordered the loaded pasta chips and fried lasagna roll things as appetizers. Everything was a special order (we don't eat meat and are a little particular). All the food was really fresh & delicious and prepared as requested. We took a chocolate lasagna thing to go. It was rich and yummy, like the rest of the meal. Our server was very sweet, didn't make us feel rushed, even tho we didn't finish until 45 min after closing. Reminded me why i love olive garden :)

This was the worst Olive Garden I have even been to eat. Upon arrival, the greeter took our name and we went to the bar to wait. They said it would be 5 mins. I thought we'd get a drink and get seated immediately thereafter. We sat down at the bar and we were never acknowledged by the bartender or the guy washing glassware. After waiting 10 mins, we finally interrupted the guy washing dishes and asked if anyone was waiting on customers at the bar. He told the bartender who responded with a gruff "I know" and waited on us 10 mins after that. He took our order and the wine glass that was served had lipstick on it so we had to again wait 5 mins for a replacement. After waiting 25 mins for iur name to be called, we went back to the greeter and inquired about how much longer until we were seated. They forgot to write down our name. After immediately seating us (there was now no one waiting), we waited another 15 minutes for the waitress to even come by. By this time, we were already 40 minutes into waiting and were just now ordering even though the restaurant was not busy anywhere. We ordered pasta which arrived cold and I also ordered the pasta fegiole soup which arrived with no pasta. We ate what we could, paid the waitress (the self serve payment kiosk was missing the battery) and again had to wait..... We will never return to this restaurant again and our experience soured us on all Olive Garden restaurants in the future. RUN FROM THIS CHAIN AND ESPECIALLY...

We had made arrangements three weeks in advance for 20 Senior church members to have our monthly lunch gathering. When the first few arrived they were told they had to prepare a table, leaving Senior citizens standing in the lobby for quite some time with no seating. We had reservations for noon. We were finally seated at 12:20. We asked for the back room as we had a speaker scheduled. There were other parties in the back room making it nearly impossible for everyone to hear the speaker. The wait staff was wonderful and orders were mostly correct. I placed my order to go and told her that I would have to leave as soon as the speaker was done. My to go order was not ready untill after all at the table was served. Clearly a kitchen blunder. Most everyone was pleased with their food I got soup and salad to go. Not a good choice unless you are staying for all you can eat. Salad was sparce. I also ordered meatballs they were served with no sauce. I also had a child's spaghetti and meat sauce. There was a lot of pasta but very little sauce. I ordered a side of grilled chicken. Not sure why but they put it on top of the spaghetti and meat sauce. Mostly a good experience. We will be...
