Standing outside of the At Home sore in Slidell La. I got out of my car to go in because it opens at 9:00. She opened the door to let workers in and told me they open at 9:00. I said I know it’s 1 minute till. She then proceeded to tell me she had to get the tolls in the registers so she locked the door back. 3 minutes later she comes yo unlock the door snd tells me I can come in. Again she tells me they open at 9:00, so I replied that my phone has 9:03 ( which we all know is accurate). She said that they open by their time on their clock. Was not necessary to tell be all that. I’ve worked in the public for a bank for 34 years. She was an older lady whom I thought to be very rude and gave the impression she definitely did not want yo be there. I would have been gone had she said, good morning, I’m sorry about that, come on in with the attitude a person should have when greeting customers. I feel she definitely needs to work on customer skills. Update: Same lady that let me in checked me out. Totally different person. She went above and beyond with kindness. She was very courteous. Therefore, I changed my rating...
Read moreGiving two instead of one star because the cashier was super nice, and was actually helpful. We got a pair of wire laundry hampers that rang up for five bucks more each than what the At Home tag stated as $19.99. Guy with the key/code came up to the cashier, checked what it rang up as, and then simply stated "they are marked up now, that's the price" and walked off. Looking visibly annoyed that he had to step away from his tasks to assist. We could tell even the cashier was super hesitant to ask for his assistance, now we know why. We did spend a good bit of money on other things we got there, so expected a bit more customer service from leadership (if he even was such). So we simply decided to return the wire hampers out of principle. Just a tidbit, if the guy would've handled it different, even if he didn't honor the marked price, we probably would've been ok. It all just gave us a very weird vibe. I think we will stay clear of this store going forward, as we don't support such questionable...
Read moreThere's a lot of interesting things here. Some things are priced pretty well, other things are just WAY more expensive than you'd think they should be. And I'm not sure what the deal with the Slidell location is, but every time I've ever been there there's always tons of junk in the isles. Don't believe me? Go around the pillow and bedding isles. This is more the fault of some sloppy trashy customer that has acted a fool and didn't put stuff back where they found it. At least on that isle. But there's a lot of places around the store that regularly have a bunch of junk all in the isles. And oddly, I never ever see any employees except at the front register. You just walk in, look around and see if there's anything you want, and check out. I've never run accross an employee to ask for help locating something now that I think about it. Still, overall not a bad store aside from the prices (sometimes) and junk in the...
