First impression...run! I walked in to a small room full of high school age kids sitting at tables that looked like they also belonged in school. Several empty tables were dirty and no one greeted us at the door. Once we were seated, the table was small and had salt all over it. The server took our drink order and was quick from that point on. The unsweet tea my wife ordered was like dirty water so she requested water which was quickly provided. There were no free chips and salsa so we ordered the queso appetizer.
Then things changed. DRASTICALLY. I was completely prepared to hate this place. I was won over by the food. The chips were thick homemade and delicious. The queso was standard but they brought us these 3 wonderful sauces that they make in house. Hot, mild, and OMG my mouth is on 🔥. Then the food arrived. Read moreFirst and last time eating here. To many options for Mexican food in Slidell to eat here. Salsa and chips are not included with meal. Ordered guacamole and chips for $6.50. Smallest bowl for that price. And it was not fresh nor had anything in it. Just plain creamed avacado. Ordered a grilled chicken burrito. Received a dry shredded chicken burrito. Also charged a 3.5 % fee for using a credit card. The waitress should have explained that at the time of paying. Do yourself a favor and go to El Paso or another Mexican restaurant in Slidell. I don't mind paying extra money when the food taste good. Restaurant is too pricey for...
Read moreHands down the best birria tacos I’ve had in St. Tammany Parish! Others at our table tried the taco specials of the day—pork and chicken were big hits, though the steak was a little tough. Still, everything was flavorful and fresh.
The restaurant was super clean—none of that harsh cleaner smell you sometimes get at other places (IYKYK!). Instead, you could actually smell the food being prepared, and it smelled amazing.
What really stood out was the hospitality. The owner came by our table several times to check in and personally thank us for coming. That kind of service makes all the difference.
We’ll...
