Twisted Oak Tavern — Restaurant in Slippery Rock Township

I’m extremely upset! I live within two minutes of here and up until the last four months or so my husband and I ordered at least once a week from there, chicken wings!! So much so when I called the waitress knew who was ordering and what the order was😁! . In the last three or so months, they’ve been terrible…they Taste like they are fried old burnt oil, their soggy and The skin is no longer crispy! I suggest packing them in a paper bag instead of squishing them into a plastic container where they sweat and get soggy??? Mind you you I live 1 mile from here so it’s not like The food is in transit for a while!! Then last night we thought what the heck will try the wings again, And that’s only because the other restaurant we were going to get them from was closed. My husband got wings and I thought, being from the Deep south, maybe I’ll try their new shrimp Poboy. Needless to say, that is not a proper shrimp, Poboy! If you’re going to grill the shrimp and not fry it you absolutely need to State that in your description Of the sandwich!! Or at the very least have your server Give your customer proper description! I’m all about putting your own twist on it but like I said you need to state that so your custom is aware! Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed I was expecting a fried shrimp Poboy, because no one stated otherwise And please for God sakes toast the bun!!!!! It was so soggy it was awful. I couldn’t eat it! I will say the shrimp were well cooked!! I only ate the fries and the shrimp. The absolute worst part, and the one that I was Most excited to taste was the lemon aïoli, pardon me, but it sucked,Big Time !!!! It tasted like dishwater and poured out like dishwater. I’m pretty sure aïoli is supposed to be thick, rich and creamy, trust me it was not it was pure liquid!! It was disgusting.🤮 There have been a couple of times I’ve tried different things in the last three or four months and haven’t been pleased with any of them, even the simple burger that they have that used to be delicious and cooked to order and no longer is😞 So if you switch cooks, please switch again or whatever you changed please bring it back!! 🙏🙏 My husband and I really miss the delicious wings, burgers, and pastas that you previously had, but not anymore! Please fix these issues cause we really enjoy going to your restaurant! We especially love patronizing our local establishments, and in the past you couldn’t get much better than twisted oak tavern but not so much...

So I USED to eat here often. But not anymore for multiple reasons. The first one is because the staff NEVER answers the phone to make an order. Over the last two months I’ve called at least 12-15 times and not one time was a call answered. Sometimes it was as if the phone was off the hook. And others they just wouldn’t pick up the phone. And I’ve tried to call back multiple times in a row. They even have an option to leave a message. No call back. So how do they expect to get my business if I can’t get ahold of anyone to put an order in? It’s frustrating. So I’m not sure if it’s the staff responsible or not. But the owners may want to look into it.

The other reason is that I would often get their burgers. The previous few times I had the burgers they were burnt. I figured maybe a new cook was the issue. So I took a break from eating there. But ever since I’ve tried to return they won’t answer the phone to make an order. Which sucks cause I live so close. I used to order out twice a week there. But since these mishaps I haven’t eaten there again. And after tonight calling multiple times to try and place an order and not getting an answer I decided to leave this review. Hopefully they...

I used to come here all of the time. It was one of my favorite places to go to eat. I ordered take out at least once a week. Recently, I ordered shrimp scampi for me, and a burger for my husband. My shrimp scampi had 4 shrimp in the entire meal, which was $15 and my husband's $15 burger was so soggy that he couldn't even hold the bun as it broke apart. I live less than 5 minutes from this restaurant and being quoted 15-20 minutes to pick up, I was there in 14. I ended up speaking with management and talked to them about this issue. The manager seemed sincere and offered me meals to replace those. I was very appreciative of this and took him up on his offer in getting two bacon cheeseburgers. When I got home with these meals, there was no bacon on either burger and both were burnt terribly.
