Las Galeras Mexican Restaurant&Taco — Restaurant in Slocomb

First visit. Las Galeras is located in a small south Alabama town named Slocomb, AL. It is owned by what appears to be either a Hispanic family or Hispanic restaurant business. It is not cookie cutter, and I have never heard of it's name before. It appears to have been fairly recently constructed and opened. We had 7 in our party and was taken immediately to a table. The front part was already full and service was on going. Drink service (no alcohol) was prompt and served in large 20 Oz glasses. We were given time to review the menu that was extensive and very moderately priced. The highest priced item/plate was $23.00. The average $13.00 for a plate. Servings were generous. The staff were attentive but not I trusted. The food was excellent. Typically expected dishes such as burritos, tacos, tostades came in several varieties and could be spicy or mild. I don't eat here a lot, but when I do, I'm never disappointed. I had the number 1 on the lunch menu, and it was delicious. The server was really nice and had my food out fast. The chips and salsa are really good too. I especially like their chips. I like how light and crispy they are. I should have ordered some cheese dip.
