Food Giant — Local services in Slocomb

My favorite place to grocery shop always a good deal always a sale on, weekly specials every week holiday specials every holiday. The meat man will cut you any slice of meat you want need or desire to have! Very Clean store very clean restrooms very neatly organized shelves and the shelves are always stocked plus if you can't find what you are looking for a friendly staff member will show you yes show you walk with you and help you look! Produce section is awesomeness fully stocked and again sales weekly specials daily even (Wednesday to be honest) fresh fruits and vegetables always out not ever out of stock! My favorite local to Slocomb grocery store and they have an in house deli also an in store food shack and they have good good tasty delicious food! Stop in and get your grocery shopping done for the week or for the month or just a bite to eat for supper they have it all and it is affordable meets budget...

I like this store. It's well appointed and graciously stocked. I can find some items here that I can't at my local Food Giant, also known as Piggly Wiggly. The produce seems fresher at this location. I don't know what the difference is because both stores are selling the same thing! I can buy salad mix at Piggly wiggly in Geneva and it won't last until the fresh by date on the package. But I can get the same salad mix at the Food Giant in Slocomb and it will stay fresh and crisp. This location is easy to get to, plenty of free parking. The staff is so helpful and friendly. Especially the checkout clerks at the front. I really enjoy shopping here. The store manager must be doing a great job. It's always clean and...

This place has fallen from grace.

My 1 star rating is only for the deli, however this place is an over priced local grocery store... Go to Tates in Hartford unless you just absolutely need something essential right now and don't really care how much it costs.

That being said, the deli used to SMASH... I'm talking amazing fried chicken, fish, Mac and cheese, ECT.

No more... The last time we got a plate I couldn't even eat the chicken it was so dry... And I'm not talking about, "oh they sat under the warmer too long." No... If I'm hungry I can eat dry chicken...I literally threw my plate in...
