Another Pocono "Brewery" that doesn't know anything about beer. They try and copy traditional Belgian styles - in name only. They spend a lot of time on marketing and pretending to be creative. But their beers are awful. Spend a little more time educating yourself on beer traditions and how to create the classic styles. Hire some competent brewers. Gain a little bit of brewing knowledge before opening a business.
You are not making any lambic style beers or krieks so you should stop marketing them as such. These are styles of beer that can only be brewed in the Pajottenland of Belgium and spontaneously fermented with the yeast found in that region. You cannot make these beers here. What's more - you are not even properly imitating the style by creating a locally produced spontaneously fermented ale cooled in an open air vat and aged in oak barrels. You are making kettle sours and one dimensional ales without any respect for the craft or the culture. Your bourbon barrel aged porter was a watery mess.
Edit: I appreciate the invitation to return, but I have tried several times, to no avail, and it's like speaking to a brick wall. The setting, atmosphere, and music are all on point - the beer - sadly, no. Conversation too was pleasant enough - but be careful that your "pride" doesn't get in the way of taking criticism, it's not just me but everyone I know who feels this way about your beer and your attitude...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I have been here a few times over the last year. The beer is decent and the new pizza place attached is good but on our last visit they had all their chairs up like they were closed. We went in reluctantly and were confused after we were told to come in by the one of the two bartenders but they were also mopping and seemingly closing up. We were looking forward to a pizza and a couple beers like the weekend before when we went but they made it seem like they wanted us out quickly, even after saying it was ok to sit after they took two chairs down but told us no rush all the while looming over us. The gentleman bartender said no one came in until we did since 5pm and it was around 7-7:30 at that point so they were going to close early. They had to ask the chef making the food if he was still serving pizza as well. We lucked out but still we were really uncomfortable the entire time and felt rushed out along with another couple that said they were staying at the resort / Inn and got food then left promptly who arrived shortly after we did. Overall they made the experience not enjoyable. Hopefully they step their customer service up and stay open fully for their listed hours of operation or at least change them to reflect closing early...
Read moreFast beer, very, very slow pizza. Finished a beer before the Pizza arrived. The bar is nice and there is a stage that was not being used the night I was here. I had two of the IPAs on tap. Both very good but not as hoppy as IPAs in the Pacific North West. I ordered The Godfather pizza and I am still waiting on it. If it doesnât come soon, I will drop the review to two stars. After asking the bartender, I did finally get my pizza. Pizza is good but they serve it on a paper tray and give you a plastic fork an no knife.
It is really rare that I receive a response from a business. This was a great response from the owner. Tonight I came back to the brewery. I use my real name for all post. When I walked in, I was greeted by the manager. They care enough to respond and to know that I posted the review. These are the nicest people I have met in a long time. They really care about their business and their customers. If they allow me to come back, I will be there anytime I can be. Thank you for your reply and how openly you greeted me when...
