I was in town for a visit from Connecticut. I read the wonderful reviews online, and wanted this to be my first stop to begin my relaxing stay. Great decision. First let me start out by saying, I'm a former caterer, personal chef, and I've been a culinary instructor for 15 years. That being said, I observe everything. The restaurant was impeccably clean. I sat at the bar, and its been a long time since I've seen a bar that's so organized and sanitary. These things matter. I was also able to have a taste of two white wines before choosing one. Thank you Hailey. Harrison and Hailey, my servers were professional and personable. Great service with a smile . So the food...amazing. I started off with the meat and cheese antipasto board, served with olives, fig jam, lightly sugared almonds, and crostini. Delish! I followed this with a small Fungi pizza. The crust was wonderfully thin, with lots of cornmeal on the bottom, but not burnt at all. The dough was fluffy, mushrooms cooked to perfection, not oily at all, and just enough fresh herbs. I ended the meal with a very unique banana foster creme brulee with whipped cream that was light as a cloud. Mind you, this was not a custard, but I was more than okay with that. It was a light banana cream, with a perfect sugar crackle topping. The entire experience was a complete...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe were excited to try this pizzeria as we are new to the area, we tried a few weeks ago and were turned away by a male host who was extremely condescending and rude, laughing when we didnāt know reservations were needed. The hours are also not very friendly when trying to make a reservation, as they donāt open till 4:30. So fast forward to tonight, I want to point out that the host station and waitress were very good, very professional and nice, top notch actually. Fortunately, the two young ladies my wife spoke to when making tonightās reservations were extremely professional. The rest not so good. The kitchen made an error and cooked a small pizza in place of a large. They did acknowledge this error and gave us the large to go and gave us the small at the table, but still charged us full price for the large. Based upon how we were first treated not knowing a reservation was needed and told youāre lucky I can squeeze you 90 minutes from now I believe errors like that canāt afford to be made. Overall, for a large and small pizza, an app to split and 4 drinks, $160 plus is just not worth it, it wasnāt that good to warrant that price tag. Donāt think we will go back as there is no value, the food was just so so and the atmosphere was rather...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIād like to give a shout out to a local business where I had an absolutely delicious meal. Iāve been to Giuseppe's Pizzeria and Bistro in Greenville several times & have always had a positive experience, Friday night was no exception. The restaurant was packed & bustling with guests, no different than any other night that Iāve visited, & clean per usual. The service was okay. I ordered from the specialās menuā¦watermelon arugula salad (my go to every time itās on special), blackened mahi mahi (if you know me then you know I love mahi mahi), & the eggplant rollatini. The salad was on point, the rollatini was okay (I was expecting what Iāve had elsewhere), but the mahi was the star of the show. The fish was accompanied with basmati rice, topped with avocado & red onion, pieces of crispy chorizo lightly sprinkled over the dish, & finishing with a smoked pineapple vinaigrette (although I feel like I tasted a hit of mango)ā¦the flavors were well balanced & paired very nicely with one anotherā¦I hope they decide to keep this on the menu for the summer. Iād like to go back & try their orange creamsicle cheesecake. Needless to say, I had an...
