We went to Aspen over the weekend to see all the fall colors. The drive up from Colorado Springs over Independence pass was amazing and the fall colors were fantastic. On Sunday night we stayed at the Westin because I'm a Marriott Ambassador traveler. It was off season obviously and one of the only options for dinner was the Black Saddle bar & grill at The Snowmass Club. My wife and I sat at the bar and Haz was our server / bartender. He provided excellent service and great recommendations. Although it was Aspen, the grill had several options on the all day Happy Hour menu because of the football game being on TV. The sliders were very good, the pretzel was one of the best I have had, the beer was ice cold and the wings are a good option. I travel for a living and the Black Saddle was excellent and I would recommend it during off season and any season. Be sure to sit at the bar and look for HAZ. He...

When it came time to pay, our server remarked we would need to pay full price as "you are ONLY a guest" (aka - not an owner) and when she brought us the bill, everything had been double charged. After she corrected our bill, I politely informed her how disappointed we were. She said she'd have her boss reach out to me. No one ever contacted me. Given the clientele and price point of this restaurant, I would have anticipated much better and...
Read moreHad a great lunch so we went back for dinner. It was quite a different experience. Small plates are indeed small plates. For $28 dollars we got 3 quarter sized crab cakes shell included. Then then beef kabobs with peanut sauce which were good but had about 1oz of meat on them and there were 2. A glass of Chardonnay was $16. When I got my whiskey and soda it was bourbon and the bartender argued that it was the same. The 4 of us had a 200 dollar bill and came home and ate cheese and crackers. Don’t waste your time for dinner. Very rude staff and not worth it...
