So honestly this place isn't a 3 star place, I just put 3 stars so the management/owner could see and address the issue I had tonight. I've been coming here for years, awesome environment, very friendly front of house staff, delicious drinks at a good price, great happy hour deals. I work at a nice restaurant myself, and I know that the people who aren't the best workers/cooks get put on appetizers. However, the expo should've never let this slide, and the kitchen manager/head chef should seriously teach whoever was on appetizers how to do there job right. The date was 9/26/25 Friday night, and whoever was in charge of making the crispy brussel sprouts either needs to be fired, retrained, or seriously talked too. Me and my wife LOVE crispy brussel sprouts, but these weren't crispy, they were burnt to a crisp. No flavor at all except for like biting into charcoal. They were pitch black and flaking with ash. Our 1 year old who isn't a picky eater at all tried one and made the craziest face she ever made and spit it out. The waitress was super nice and offered to remake them, but I just opted to take it off the bill and they agreed. Again this is a great restaurant with great staff and I leave this review out of love so that they can address the issue. It's just if this was at my restaurant, I would've scolded whoever tried to send them out and shown them the proper way. It was one of the worst things I ever had in my life. Either the cook was in a rush, burnt them, and sent them anyways (shame on you expo for not checking) or they just can't cook at all. Send that guy to the dishpit or the prep station. I'll definitely be back again and probably change my review back to 5 stars, but yeah, any owner or member of management look into who was in charge of brussel sprouts because no sir that is...
Read moreMy husband, son, and I eat at the Tin Plate at least once a week. We love Bree and Hailey when they host, and we love Angelica as our waitress. We have spent TONS of money in this restaurant and have never been mistreated.. until Saturday. This Saturday, we arrived with a party of 11 around 6:00 pm. We figured we would have to wait since we are used to the customs of their waiting times and since we had a big party, it was understandable. The hostess’ were two young girls who I had never seen before. They got my name and number and didn’t say anything after that. We waited for an hour and a half, and with 4 young kids, they were getting super fussy. We asked how long it would be as there were many tables opening up. We even told the hostess’ that we could split in to separate tables, as we just wanted to get our kids sat and fed before 8:00 on a Saturday. The hostess’ sat a PARTY OF 8 that came in about an hour AFTER US, at the tables that we were asking about beforehand. The young hostess’ were rolling their eyes at us and were super unprofessional. We were so upset at the fact that we were waiting for 90 minutes so patiently (even getting drinks at the bar while we waited) for people to get sat before us, at tables we could have sat at. I was dumbfounded and we left. We couldn’t wait anymore. We have never been mistreated that way, and my husband who all the bartenders and waitresses know, said he won’t come back because of how absurd it was. I was very disappointed, as we used to love it there. Those hostess’ need to be retrained, because that’s not how you...
Read moreFirst of all let's start with the fact that me and my boyfriend spent our first 15 years in the workforce in the corporate restaurant trade. That being said whenever we travel we give 110% effort to avoid corporate restaurants. We love finding the off the beaten path local gems. Tin Plate is SURELY one of those gems. From the moment we stepped out of the car and heard one of our favorite songs playing til we walked out of the door at the end of our meal receiving a GENIUNE goodbye from several staff members. The entire experience was fabulous. We came in near the end of the night and the hostess let us know that the kitchen would be closing soon and that she would get our server quickly to make sure we got our food order in on time. Our server Alec showed up almost immediately and greeted us with a friendly smile. He got our drink order and was back in no time. He got our food order and in a short amount of time we were enjoying a fabulous culinary delight. We got the Trophy Getter burger which was amazing! And the Pepe Au Jus which was also amazing! And to quote someone from a previous review...the tator tots we cooked to perfection. We also got the red velvet cookie with vanilla ice cream for dessert. The cookie was warm, soft and chewy. Just the way a cookie should be. Alec went out of his way to make it for us since the kitchen was already closed. He is unknowingly charming.
We will DEFINITELY be back and asking for Alec. If you are in the Social Circle area ( or even if you are not) you should check out Tin Plate. You won't be...
