Not Worth the Hype🙅🏽‍♀️ – Overpriced and Underwhelming 😞👎

I found this place after watching an Instagram reel from Del La Story and was excited to check it out, especially since they had a ramen truck on-site.

Unfortunately, when we arrived, the ramen truck—Jazz Hop Ramen—was only serving birria ramen, Korean corn dogs, and dumplings for the rest of the night—not the ramen or sushi we were hoping for. So we decided to try Hot Dog Kings instead.

Right away, we noticed the menu we were handed didn’t include any prices, and the signage outside had no pricing either. Being a former manager of a restaurant in California, that caught me off guard and confused.🤨

Assuming it couldn’t be that bad, we went ahead and ordered birria tacos, asada tacos, one soda, and one Agua Fresca.

After getting our food and reaching for napkins, we finally noticed a small menu indide the napkin holde—listing all the prices. And they were outrageous!!😬💸

That’s honestly the worst place to display prices. If you’re running a business, pricing should be clearly shown on the menu and on your truck signage—not hidden on a napkin dispenser you won’t see until after ordering. 💯

The food came out quickly, and while the tacos were decent, the bill came out to nearly $35 for two people. No sides, no chips, nothing extra. At that price, I’d expect a full sit-down experience at a place like Mi Cabana, where the food is good and you actually get more for your money. (Side note: it's cheaper too!)

We’ve reviewed many other food spots throughout Socorro, and Hot Dog Kings was by far the most outrageous when it comes to pricing. The food wasn’t bad—but it definitely wasn’t worth that amount.

Jazz Hop Ramen seemed more affordable overall, but unfortunately didn’t have the items we were looking for that night. As for Hot Dog Kings, the food was just okay and NOT worth the premium. The Agua Fresca de Mazapán was also disappointing.

To be honest, I think the only reason this spot is getting attention is because it was featured on a popular El Paso page. Take that away, and it’s just a place with string lights, broken outdoor games, and overpriced food.

If you're into chasing viral spots, maybe give it a try. But if you're looking for food that lives up to the price and the hype—this isn't it.

Try other food truck parks like DJ's Food Truck Park or the Food truck park behind the Subway on Socorro. Way better prices, the games actually work and the food is amazing.👌

🌮 5 Stars – Best Tacos al Pastor I’ve Had in a Long Time!

If you’re looking for authentic, mouthwatering tacos al pastor, this is the place to go. The pork is perfectly marinated—juicy, tender, and full of that signature adobo flavor with just the right hint of sweetness from the pineapple. You can tell it's cooked on a real trompo because the edges are crispy and caramelized in the best way.

The tacos come on warm, freshly made corn tortillas that hold everything together beautifully without falling apart. Topped with chopped onion, cilantro, and a squeeze of lime, every bite is a perfect balance of smoky, savory, and fresh.

I also have to shout out the salsas—especially the spicy red one that adds a bold kick without overpowering the meat. The green salsa is super flavorful too if you prefer something milder.

These tacos hit every mark—authentic, affordable, and full of flavor. Honestly, they taste like something straight out of Mexico City. Highly recommend if you’re a true taco...

We weren’t rude, difficult with anyone, we were there for the experience and this is how it went. Food was ok, nothing to brag about. The service there was the terrible part. Upon arriving I was told that they would take our order at the table, so we sat and waited more than 20min and After seeing a waiter take an order of a table close to us. I went inside to order, as I was ordering i was getting told certain items were not available. So I walked back to the table to let my family know, and choose different items, I DID THAT 3 times and this guy didn’t even consider, “Hey let me just take your order AT THE TABLE” but oh well. Another server witnessed some glass break from a candle, at a table with a couple and their 3 young kids, didn’t bother sweeping it up, just put a CONE over it.
