My husband and I wanted a date night in. We were intrigued by Bond 124âs Facebook page posts of past specials, and gave them a call on a recent Saturday night. I ordered two cod cakes with chipotle aoli (a special), a grilled Caesar (on the menu), and my husband got the beer battered cod with fries. My husband picked it up in 20 minutes and it arrived back home hot and packaged up with great care. I took out the pretty plates and set the table (it was date night after all). Everything was absolutely scrumptious. The cod cakes were lightly crunchy on the outside and flaky on the inside, and the chipotle aoli offered the perfect light-medium heat. I like to taste my dinner, not burn my palate. Lol The grilled Caesar was perfection! It had a slight char, giving it a lovely, subtle smoky flavor. The romaine was tender-crisp, and the dressing & Parmesan shreds were a tangy accent. I was completely impressed with my meal. Bond 124 is truly a gastropub with unexpectedly elevated fare. So impressiveâand right down the road. Who knew? (Probably everyone, as Iâm a little slow on the âletâs try something new to us.â I tend to stick with favorites unless weâre traveling.) My husband, a man of few words, declared, âIâd definitely order here againâ so...high praise! And we will absolutely be back (keeping an eye on the delectable specials, too).
Update 2/13/2021 Still fabulous, lol. We ordered from the Valentines Day menu last weekend, and nothing disappointed. My husband thought the Chicken Francese was delectable, and my Wedge Salad was divine!! Also delicious were my salmon/cod cakes. Oh, and crème brĂťlĂŠe cheesecake?? We only wish weâd have ordered two pieces.
We got 2 full meals each from our selections, but the cheesecake slice was devoured on evening 1.

Read moreInitially we were welcomed with a smile and seated close to where our friend would be entertaining with his amazing singing and acoustic guitar. We ordered our drinks (bottled beer) and an appetizer to start (off their specials list), mind you it wasn't overly busy, still took 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive. Next up, our appetizer, buffalo chicken egg rolls. There were two, cut in half, very small (more like a spring roll) and no chipotle mayo. We flag our waitress and she returns with a bowl of mayo, mixed with Red Hot (barely mixed)...we aren't mad about it, just laughed. We ended up going to the bar ourselves for our next round of drinks, over waiting for our waitress with a frown. She returns and we decide on a pizza because the prime rib (also on special) was unavailable. It was 6pm and already out? Ok, whatever. Our pizza comes in reasonable time, no smile from our waitress, no smile on ANY waitress or the manager (who are sitting in the booth behind us). Our waitress never checks on us, asks if we need anything else, ever! Our saving grace and the only reason I'm giving this place 3 stars is for the bus boy and the entertainment. He recalled our names, kept our table clear, was very personable and made the remainder of our evening enjoyable, like our patronage meant something. We tipped him and left a small tip for the waitress. Definitely not impressed with this place, but ya never know until you give an establishment a try. I'm not one to leave bad reviews, but I was so disappointed I had to. In these times when people are struggling and places continue to close due to lack of customers, treat the ones who do come out with a smile and...
Read moreI've only been to Bond 124 a few times since the doors opened and what a difference. First off it was pretty busy, yet our food and drinks came out fast and fresh. I liked how all the staff worked together. My coworker and I had drinks and appetizers and the appetizers ate like a meal. The spicy mozzerella sticks were fabulous. I was hoping my friend would not eat the last one and he did not disappoint. The beers were ice cold and then there was the whiskey. Have you ever gone into a tavern, ordered a whiskey and regretted it because it's definitely not the right whiskey in the bottle? My well poured Jamesons were fresh off the boat with brogue and all. It set the stage for a great night. Patrons were singing along to the one man band and the whole atmosphere was fun and friendly. The manager was everywhere he was supposed to be and the staff was on their game, checking tables, drinks and food. The men's room was even nice. You can judge a restaurant by its bathrooms. If it's clean, nice decore, spacious and private, it shows that the owners respect their customers. I'm heading back soon to try the entrees and spend more time enjoying authentic...
