This was our first dining experience at Fold’d. I was excited - they had gluten-free cinnamon swirl French toast, what a treat! My husband and I had the day off for our 6th wedding anniversary and all three boys (ages 4, 2, and 5 months) were at daycare, a rare occurrence. We headed to Fold’d for breakfast to start our day. I was torn between an omelet and the gluten free French Toast. Our server said both were great - I decided on the French toast, my husband ordered breakfast tacos. I told her that I have a gluten allergy (celiac disease); she nodded and continued writing on her notepad. Our meals felt like they took a bit long to arrive, but when they did, they were delicious! I even splurged for real maple syrup. Wow, did it taste good - how could it be gluten free? Well, two hours later, I found out the hard way that my meal was NOT gluten free. I was violently ill, vomiting multiple times. We were still out running errands and luckily I was with my husband so I could safely get home to rest. I spent the rest of the day in bed. I’m not sure what went wrong - if there was a miscommunication in the kitchen, if my server didn’t take my information correctly, or if there’s a GF option and that wasn’t selected (the way the menu reads it looks like the only option for the French toast is gluten free). Whatever happened, please please please be cautious - I’ve had celiac disease for most of my adult life, almost 20 years now, and I’ve eaten out at many restaurants, safely and with careful planning, but have never been blindsided like this before. I’m fortunate that the severe reaction, illness, and subsequent dehydration did not impact my milk supply for my youngest son. I really wanted to like this diner, and it seems like they have a great thing going, but if you have celiac or gluten sensitivity, I would not trust them.

First time visit here at Fold’d, certainly will not be our last. The decor was bright & cheery. The waitstaff was kind & knowledgeable. The food was amazing. Well done!!! UPDATE: My family has been back MANY times now, and this place is the gem of the Somersworth area. Mark, Dave, & Marcos absolutely slay it in the kitchen every time. We have never waited in line or had a bad meal here. The bacon is thick sliced and the aroma permeates the air as soon as you step in the front door. The muffins are warm and soft on the inside with just a slight crunch on the outside, if you have it grilled. The south x southwest bowl is incredible and ties for my favorite menu item with the banana Nutella crepe. THIS is the best breakfast place in Dover, Somersworth, Berwick, or Rochester. If you haven't dined here, yet, what are you waiting for?!

Fantastic gem in Somersworth, so hurry in! Nothing like them in the tri-city area. Excellent menu and it's a pleasure to support their community mission. How fun to offer an array of folded breakfast favorites - a novel idea they've well-executed.

Ours was a large takeout order, and we found everything to be hot, flavorful, and generous. Simple, high-quality ingredients and expert preparation created a terrific brunch to-go. Staff was super friendly on the phone and at pickup. Already looking forward to next time.

Country Crepe - great flavor and the crepe itself was cooked perfectly. Also re: crepes - great to see an offering of both sweet and savory on the menu. Very exciting to have these nearby.

Sunrise Tacos - so delightful, nicely seasoned with great texture and no signs of sogginess whatsoever, which can be difficult to avoid in takeout. Just awesome.

Hilltop Omelette - egg cooked perfectly, nice and even, generous amount of fillings, rich flavor.

Pancakes & sausage - superb, and the sausage patty was impressive - looked and tasted homemade.

Thank you for a wonderful...

Give this place a(nother) try!

We are local and headed in for breakfast a few months ago when Fold'd first opened. We immediately were impressed with the vibe - which has an upscale diner feel - and love the mission. Staff were friendly and service overall was great.

That said, the food was deeply disappointing. Thick, over sweetened crepes, undercooked eggs. We walked in with high expectations of another excellent breakfast option, and left disheartened. With a bad taste in our mouths, we stayed away for months.

Until last week. Ever-optimistic, we returned to give the community diner another chance. I'm so happy to report that again we found a great vibe, awesome service etc... but one thing was different... the food was awesome! Breakfast tacos with super fresh ingredients, eggs cooked perfectly, a delicious pancake. Needless to say we were thrilled!

If you've never eaten at Fold'd, give them a try. If you - like us - had a tough first experience, I strongly recommend you give them another try! We can't wait to...
