edited Went back there for the 2nd time today. We had Tahu Gimbal, it was phenomenal!! Husband had the nasi pecel with beef empal. I myself had the gado2. All 3 dishes have peanut sauce. The male owner/chef was so nice to tell us that they all had peanut sauce. Maybe he just wanted to make sure we knew what we were getting. For those familiar with Indonesian foods, you must know that the peanut sauce for each of those dishes should taste different from one another. And they were! Each sauce tasted just like it should be. They were packing lots of nasbung but too bad it was sold out. I will follow them on IG so next time I can see what specials they have. And oh, btw, we have been to the other place too but Tasya's Kitchen is so much better. Feb 2022
Decided to give this place a try on our way back from Portland, ME. I ordered mie ayam, which was good but a little too salty for my liking. Not unusual since I have a low tolerance to salt. My husband ordered ayam penyet, which was served differently than what he is accustomed to. The chef was very nice and accommodating his request to transform it into what he expected. We also bought a bunch of snacks. You need to make an instant payment on them (no credit card) with PayPal, Venmo and something else as options.
Since we came home, I have devoured their pempek. I had been craving them for a long time. The last time I had had them was in 2018. Tonight we shared the nasi rendang. So glad they are only a little over 2 hours from Rhode Island. Definitely...
Read moreI stopped by Tasya's Kitchen today for an early dinner, and it was my first time trying Indonesian food. I was seriously impressed. I don’t eat meat, and the staff was incredibly accommodating. One of the waiters even took the time to circle all the menu items that could be made vegetarian, which made ordering super easy.
I started with the Tahu Isi (fried stuffed tofu with veggies and dipping sauce), and it was honestly one of the best appetizers I’ve had in a while. For my main dish, I went with the Lontong Sayur without chicken, and it completely blew me away. The broth had just the right amount of heat without being overpowering. My boyfriend ordered the Nasi Ayam Kremes for his entree, and the Lumpia Semarang as his appetizer, and he loved both of them. The service was fast, the dining area was super clean, and everyone was friendly. You can tell they care about the food and the customer experience. They also have a little section of Indonesian snacks, teas, and ramen for sale, which is great if you're looking to try new snacks from Indonesia.
Great, authentic experience. Will be...
Read moreI cannot properly put into words just how delicious Tasya's Kitchen is. I came here with a classmate from Indonesia. He claims this is the best Indonesian food he has had outside of Indonesia. We drove nearly two hours for this meal and I would do it again in a heartbeat. We had the Mie Bakso- a noodle soup with some of the most amazing broth I have ever tasted, Nasi Ayam Kremes- some of the most crispy fried chicken I have ever eaten which was seasoned to perfection, Sate Ayam- a deliciously tender chicken skewer with a wonderful char, among many other amazing dishes. The star of the show however, was the Pempek- a crispy fried fish cake accompanied by a sweet and spicy tamarind sauce. It was one of the most uniquely delicious flavors I have ever tasted. The staff was some of the most down to earth, and grateful people I have ever met. I will most certainly come back. This was one of the most special experiences I have had in a restaurant in my life. If you want to expand your tastes to delicious new flavors, you have...
