Pretty good Louisiana style menu with sociable service and acceptable accommodations. There is fair amount of variety on the menu, from platers, wraps, burgers, and Po-boys to salads, sides, and deserts. For those with a more pedestrian taste, the burger options have sufficient variety and the quality is quite good. At first glance, presentation is nice but looked like light portions, but in reality it was substantial and filling. The Gator Tail appetizer was fried to a crispy, golden brown with the typical slightly chewy meat. The gator sauce, a cream cheese & pepper jelly blend with green food coloring is delicious but would be better without or with much less coloring. The Andouille Po-Boy was a more generous portion with a nice spiciness to the andouille on a grilled, fresh French roll. The spiciness was a good compliment to the fresh veggies and mayonnaise. I added the mushrooms and it was a good compliment but would have been really good with mushrooms, peppers, & onions like a Philly style sandwich. The beignets are a very delicious dessert pastry with a crisp exterior and soft interior. Atmosphere is just so, so. Being attached to a Hotel has its drawbacks, like the lobby bathroom arrangement & such. Not a huge space, but has...

Y'all, this is in the Holiday Inn....not sweating it, but the atmosphere is pitiful, and the service is even less so. It is so confusing when you walk in because there is no "seat yourself or wait for a host" sign. We had to ask at the bar what we were supposed to do. We took a seat in a booth and SANK into the seats. After a few minutes we moved to another table. We ordered beer(was lukewarm at best) and our food before we moved. My husband had the surf and turf with French fries, and I had the fried shrimp with fried okra and sweet potato fries. I have to say it was not the best but it was decent. The steak was a really good cut and cooked, maybe a little less than he likes, but not overcooked. The fried oysters were perfectly cooked, and so was my shrimp. The only thing I can say about the food is that the fries could have been a little more crispy. Once we received our food, we no longer saw a server. They were around, but no one came to check on us. I had to go up to where the register was for take out boxes...

My wife and I and two friends decided on a seafood dinner at Badeaux's after reading good reviews from others. This was on Oct 30 2020. We started off with an appetizer of shrimp dip and chips. Which was very good but it went downhill from there. My wife ordered fried shrimp and one of our friends had scallops and the other had oysters.I had the shrimp etoufee . My wife's shrimp was way overdone and my friend's scallops were way overdone . My etoufee was very disappointing . I love shrimp but left five of them on the plate. The only thing that got a thumbs up were the oysters. I also asked the server, when she was taking our orders , if they gave veterans a discount and the answer was yes. But when it came time to pay the check, I noticed there was no discount. When I asked her about it, all I got was "Sorry". Before she brought the check she asked us how we liked the meal and we told her how it was and all we got was "Sorry". Needless to say ...there are four people I know who will never eat...

Badeauxs is one of those spots you kinda stumble into hoping for a decent bite and walk out thinking, "Yeah, I’d go back." I had the grilled shrimp and grilled catfish — both came out cooked just right. Not dry, not rubbery, not drowned in butter. Just good clean grilling, the way it should be. Service? On point. No disappearing act from the staff, no attitude, and they managed to keep the drinks filled without hovering like a chopper mom. Now the one gripe and it’s a big one if you like cocktail sauce with your seafood. Whatever they served tasted like they scooped it straight out of a 55-gallon drum labeled "Industrial Tomato Paste – No Flavor Added." Honestly, I could’ve done better with a packet of ketchup and a squirt of horseradish. Bottom line: food and service worth a return trip. Just BYO cocktail sauce unless you enjoy dipping your shrimp in regret.

I came here while in town on business, the restaurant is attached to the hotel I was staying at and was highly recommended by the lady at the front desk. It doesn't look like much on the outside but inside it has a pretty nice setup with a good size restaurant area and a separate room where the bar is located. I went with three co-workers and everyone was pleased with their food and service. All of the employees were friendly and helpful. The only things I was unhappy with are that they are closed on Monday and you can't get frog legs as a side, only an entree. The gator bites were awesome! I definitely recommend checking this place out for a taste of Louisiana in Virginia.
