H&L Seafood Market — Restaurant in Hanahan

I stumbled across H&L this morning while looking for another market that advertised an earlier opening. The owner, I assume, very nicely invited me in. I asked was he sure since they had 20 mins before officially opening and he insisted that it was ok. Once inside the young lady was EXTREMELY rude, to say the least. I asked what type (of fish) was on display and she replied "fish". She continued her work, preparing to open, with sighs and eyerolls. I ignored her and placed my partial order and asked where I could get a cooler because I intended to order more. She pointed across the street and laughed. Then told me that "they have to clean the fish...its going to take a while...he let you in and just wants the money." (As a business owner, I agree with level of service to make a sale and was prepared to make it worth his accommodating me) I replied that there's no reason for her to continue to be bothered by my patronizing her business, cancelled my order, and left. Some family should NOT work in the front...

Priced fresh flounder and advised an employee that I was interested in purchasing a total of 25-30 whole, cleaned and scored fish. I have done business with this establishment quite often, and each time my flounder order is 25-30 pieces each time. I was given the price after the employee called a higher authority head. I agreed to the price of just $1 more for each pound higher than last year's deal, and that was fine. Today I arrived, as promised, but another employee would not honor the price quoted. I kindly asked that she call the other employee and/or the owner to verify our conversation previously had. This lady stood flat footed and told me she doesn't have the owner's or the employees phone number to contact them to verify. Cool. I walked out. I suppose a few hundred dollars of product staying in their store was worth the non customer...

THIS PLACE IS KNOWN FOR SELLING YOU DEAD CRABS THEY DON'T SHAKE THEM OR ANYTHING LIKE OTHER SEAFOOD PLACES DO RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU. THIS IS OUR 2ND TIME GOING BACK TO THEM FOR DEAD CRABS. ALSO WHEN WE WENT BACK THEIR WAS A GUY IM THERE SHOWING DEAD CRABS THAT WAS IN THE BAG THEY JUST GAVE THEM. ALL THEY DO WITH THE DEAD CRABS IS CLEAN THEM OUT AND SELL THEM FOR THE PRE CLEAN CRABS. ALL IN ALL GO ELSE WHERE AND THE BIG GIRL THAT WORKS IN THERE IS VERY RUDE.PLACES LIKE THIS NEED TO BE SHUT DOWN AND TAUGHT A LESSON. YOU CAN GET REALLY SICK EATING DEAD CRABS. THEN YOU DRIVE ALL THE WAY BACK THERE TO GET ATTITUDE AND THE EXACT AMOUNT NOTHING EXTRA INCASE THEY DIE OR ANYTHING. THIS PLACE IS TRASH ONLY REASON PPL GO IS BECAUSE IT'S CONVENIENT BUT THAT WILL...
