I’m a very easy going guy who can handle a lot of stuff. I work retail, so I tend to lean toward the good side when it comes to being served by people who have to deal with the public. But, today at Mutt’s BBQ I came close to being “that guy”.
I went in around 1 pm and asked for a plate for me and a carry out for my wife who was home sick with this crudd that’s going around. The lady working the register charged me for my plate and said to just come back to her before I left to get the carry out for my sick wife. So, after eating my meal I went back to her and said I’d like to get the carry out for my wife now. She informed me that I couldn’t have a piece of chicken and the one rib that my wife requested of me because they were “running low”. It was around 2 pm now and I believe they close at 2:30 pm. There was no one in line for food and there was plenty of both types of meat at the bar. I questioned her as to why she couldn’t have just one of each and again I was told, “BECAUSE we’re running low”. Her rudeness escalated when I called my wife to see if she wanted something else. When my wife said that she didn’t want pulled pork or pulled chicken, and to pick up chicken from somewhere else, my patience with the lady’s rudeness ended. I asked her, “So a customer is not a customer unless they’re eating in?” At that point she turned and walked away from me, and disappeared around the corner never to be seen again. I wasn’t asking for a discount and was willing to pay whatever the price would be for the carry out. Money wasn’t the issue.
My “suspicion” is that since it was almost closing time that they wanted to hold on to those items for themselves. Again, I say that is just a “suspicion” on my part since there were no customers in line anywhere for any of the food and it was so close to closing time.
I met the owner of Mutt’s several years ago when I served him at my place of business. We had a good conversation about the food industry and the event that he had held there with Ted Cruz, which I attended. He came across to me as a very nice guy, and I did my best to serve him well. But today, I am most disappointed in the service that I received from his establishment and will think long and hard before ever going back.
After being home for 3 days sick in bed, my wife is returning to work tomorrow. We will however, probably never return to Mutt’s. We’re getting a lot of new restaurants in Easley and Mutt’s just fell to the bottom of the list.
Even in this current social environment, it amazes me that people can be so rude and...
Read moreAbsolutely! Here's a mouth-watering review for an awesome barbecue buffet place:
I recently had the pleasure of dining at mutts and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment I walked in, the tantalizing aroma of smoked meats filled the air, setting the stage for an incredible meal.
The buffet spread was nothing short of spectacular. It featured a wide variety of perfectly cooked barbecue dishes, each more delicious than the last. The brisket was melt-in-your-mouth tender, the ribs were fall-off-the-bone perfect, and the pulled pork was juicy and flavorful. The selection of sides was equally impressive, with classics like creamy mac and cheese, smoky baked beans, and crispy coleslaw all prepared to perfection.
What really stood out to me was the attention to detail and the quality of the food. Each dish was clearly crafted with care and expertise, showcasing the rich, smoky flavors that true barbecue enthusiasts crave. The buffet was constantly replenished, ensuring that everything was fresh and hot throughout my meal.
The atmosphere at mutts was warm and welcoming, with friendly staff who made sure we had everything we needed. The casual, rustic decor added to the overall experience, making it a great place to relax and enjoy some top-notch barbecue.
Overall, mutts is a must-visit for anyone who loves barbecue. The combination of fantastic food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it a standout dining destination. Highly recommend for an unforgettable barbecue...
Read moreOn a Sunday after church. The food was very good. Service was horrible. The place was packed. There were no trays available, once your food is on the plate they are very flimsy. There was only two people working the dining room area. Cleaning tables and getting drinks. I asked for the table to be cleaned for my party of eight. The girl picked up a couple of drinks and left she was gone and gone. She was cleaning off other tables. She came back picked a few more items up and disappears yet again. My family was arriving with there plates with no trays and was having to set them down. Again I asked this same girl to please clear and wipe the tables so my Family could set down. She did and took the drink orders. We are over half way finished with our meal and still no drinks. This girl is cleaning tables. We go to get our drinks and was told by the 2nd girl who almost never left the drink machine they they would get the drinks. I said to her no you are not we are half finished with our meal. We would get our own drinks. As we are finishing the young girl shows up with our drinks, states she is new never apologizes and says she will leave the cups as a refill, sets the tray down and then picks it up and leaves with it. I have never as many times as our family has eated at Mutt's experienced such horrible and right out rude service........Very...
