This has to be the worst experience I have had in Charleston and we eat out A LOT. I honestly rarely write reviews but this has really stuck with me and I don’t want someone else to waste their money like we did. This place is close to home and we wanted to grab something quick. It was also a Monday and a lot of places are closed, which is how/why we wound up deciding to try No Bull. First of all, the service was beyond terrible. I asked how the chicken fingers were, hoping to get some feedback to help me decide what to order and her response was “I don’t know, I’m gluten free and never tried them”. I was in the service industry for yearssss, so I was hoping she could at least let me know if they’re popular or if people tend to like them. Second, my boyfriend asked if he could change something on his burger (which was an easy change), and she said, “I’m not sure, I’ll ask”. She never got back to us about it, and when we got home to eat it, the change was never made. Lastly in regards to the service, after we gave her our card to close out, she came back and said that she closed out our tab on someone else’s card that had already left and asked if we would mind paying their tab so that she could close it out. Meanwhile, she didn’t give us an itemized receipt, and we definitely wound up paying a more expensive tab than we would have if it was our own tab. It was so odd. By the way, she literally only had 2 tables the whole time we were there. Us, and the other table we paid for. At that point, we just wanted to leave. Now for the food. We eat out at least 5 nights a week, and this was the worst food I’ve had yet in Charleston. The chicken fingers were quite literally flavorless and all of the breading was falling off. The fries were the worst fries I have ever had and we even tried putting them in our air fryer to make them better. Didn’t work. My boyfriend, who will even eat McDonald’s, couldn’t even finish his burger and wound up heating up leftovers we had in our fridge. Needless to say, we won’t be going back and I’m just all around frustrated by the...
Read moreThis restaurant offers a fantastic burger experience. The burgers themselves are absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. Additionally, the fries are perfectly cooked and customers have the option to request their preferred level of cooking. The hamburger meat is undoubtedly the star of the meal, and the soft, perfectly-sized bun complements it perfectly, soaking up the juice of the meat wonderfully.
However, my experience was tainted by the cookies on offer. Unfortunately, they were extremely dry, overcooked, and tasted like they had way too much butter. Apparently, the owner makes them, but they should be ashamed to serve them as an option. It's disappointing to finish off such a great meal with such a terrible dessert. I would recommend the restaurant to remove all cookies from their menu and find a local bakery to make their desserts instead. I tried other dessert options, but they all seemed to be of the same quality. I would advise avoiding desserts at this restaurant altogether. No pictures of the burgers you will just have to try yourself, but I did post a picture of the evil cookie.
Despite the disappointment with the desserts, I had a great time at the restaurant, and the memory of the burger and fries still makes my mouth water. I strongly recommend trying out their burger selection, which is absolutely delicious. Their beer choices are somewhat limited, but they pair well with the items on the menu. So, don't visit for the beer, but definitely check out their burger selection. Overall, a great experience, except for the...
Read moreI ordered dinner for my husband and I early on Friday. When I went to pick it up, I was informed that they were out of the salad dressing I ordered. Ok. I picked a different dressing. Then I asked about the queso, if it was in one of the to go boxes. The hostess said no, they were out of that too. Since I had paid for it I was told I’d have to go through DoorDash to get my refund. Then I get home to eat and both of the hotdogs on the order were plain instead of dressed with sloppy Joe and slaw. I called the restaurant and I was again told I’d have to go through DoorDash to get a refund. I told them I’d like the food, so I went back. When I arrived she handed me a bag with a container of slaw and chili.when I suggested that the hotdogs were now cold I got a blank stare, so I just left. At no point in time was there ever anyone that apologized or tried to make this right. Every time I’ve ordered food here something is missing, wrong, or overcooked. Now we get to cook our to go food at home which defeats the entire purpose of ordering takeout. If you want a burger, go to Boxcar Betty’s, service and quality...
