My two friends and I had lunch here today. It was our first time dining here, and we happened to come in on the same day the health inspectors did. The reason for my 3 stars: the service was severely lax. Our server, Charlie, was preoccupied with accommodating the health inspectors, which is understandable if you’re a manager/acting as a manager and responsible for their visit. But if this is the case, delegate your tables to another server, ask a busser to run your drinks/food. It wasn’t busy and the restaurant was adequately staffed. The female server was running circles around the place handling her business. The food was good. I had the fajita taco salad with chicken, which was less of a salad and more of a generous heap of sautéed peppers, onions, and well-seasoned chicken in a taco shell bowl topped with a pinch of shredded lettuce and tomato (absolutely delicious but if you’re trying to eat healthy this is not the salad for you). My friend had the pastor and carnitas tacos and my other friend had the mixed fajitas. We got the tacos and salad way before the fajitas, and then waited additional time for the fajita’s flour tortillas. Rounds of margaritas ordered at the same time came out at different times or not even at all, and an unsweetened iced tea never came out. None of this showed up on our checks which means they were never even entered into the computer in the first place. We weren’t checked on and hardly saw our server. We addressed this with Charlie and he was very apologetic, citing the inspection as the reason for his negligence. I’ll give this place another shot in a few weeks since it’s close to my house and other reviews rave about the service, but I don’t think my buddies will be back. “There are plenty of other Mexican restaurants in the area with comparable food, better service, and...
Read moreI’m giving them one star specifically because the service was terrible. When me and my family walked in we weren’t greeted at all. All of the staff seen us at the door and said absolutely nothing. We stood there for a good 5-10minutes until another couple got up, we were then told we could go sit down. When the waitress came to our table and asked us what we wanted to drink she didn’t wait to make sure we were finished nor did she ask us if we wanted any starters. She wrote down our drinks and literally walked off without saying anything. The food at this place is really good, I myself grew up eating authentic Mexican food trust this spot is as close as it gets in this area. The whole time we were there she never checked on is or even attempted to refill our drinks. When we were finished she didn’t bring us our check like she did other customers. So we literally had to wait at the door for a good 5minutes to pay before leaving. Only one of the waiters spoke to us and that was when we were done eating. She asked if we needed anything, I told her the check and drink refills and one of the guys spoke when he was picking up our plates an asked if we wanted dessert. Past that for the hour and thirty minutes we were there they acted like we didn’t exist.
We could’ve caught them on a bad day, but that was by far the worst service I’ve ever received. Since the food was good we’ll probably be ordering to go IF we return. I wish I could’ve given them five stars like everyone else...
Read morelittle hole-in-the-wall spot. My kind of place. But this isn't just any restaurant; this is Salsa Y Limon Mexican Grill, and it's a taste of heaven. Every dish here is a masterpiece, a testament to the love and tradition poured into every bite. My husband started with the carne asada tacos, and with one bite, he was transported. The steak was tender and perfectly seasoned, grilled to juicy perfection with a crispy, charred edge. But the real star was the homemade corn tortillas. They were soft and pillowy, with a warmth that felt like a hug. They didn't just hold the ingredients; they were a key part of the flavor, and he had never tasted anything like them. I usually get the vegie and cheese quesadilla, warm smooth cheese and incredibly deep in flavor. The owners, a sweet hard working, they walk around checking on tables, their smiles as warm as the food. You can feel the history and care in this place. It's more than a meal; it's an experience. Salsa Y Limon isn't just a restaurant; it's a home. This is the kind of place that reminds you why you love food. It's authentic, it's heartwarming, and it's absolutely unforgettable. If you're a foodie in search of your next great find, or just someone looking for a meal that feels like it was made with love, you have to try this place. Trust me, you'll...
