Great restaurant located right beside an old dam and mill. The inside is remodeled but retains the industrial feel. I like the exposed wood in the ceiling and original brick walls. When you enter, you're greeted by the hostess at a glass encased 70's Norton motorcycle. Why? I have no idea, but it's cool! After we were seated, we ordered the fried green tomato appetizer. These were good, but what made them great was the layer of tomato jam under the fried tomatoes. Delicious! Of course, the pimento cheese helped, too, lol I ordered the flounder. It was a solid dish. Nicely fried with coleslaw and french fries, can't go wrong with that. My SO ordered the grilled salmon. She loved the butter sauce the salmon had on it. Her sides were spinach and green beans and delicious. Overall, it was a great experience, and we'll definitely go back!

Saluda River Grill is one of those best kept secrets, a true treasure find. And it's right in the heart and history of a small SC town called Piedmont. The food here is consistently very good. The selection is moderate, with something for everyone. Everything not only tastes good, the presentation and service live up to the same standards. Atmosphere is so relaxed, clean, comfy and somewhat upscale. You'll see folks dressed to the nines, and others in jeans. Prices run moderately high. It's consistent with the quality AND the quantity. But they don't allow any substitution without a charge though. I say substitute away, and eat what you want. It will be good, that's for sure! Check out the weekend brunch buffet, talk about good and impressive. Perfect for a mother daughter ❤️ brunch.

It appears that before dinner that you can get a booth, but for dinner the booths are reserved for parties of 3 or more. My husband ordered a steak, baked potato, salad and grits. Everything was perfect for him. The steak was cooked to perfection. Something that he doesn't get often when we go out. The grits were soft and had been cooked a long time, but were not scorched. I had the linguini. It was good, but they must have put a whole stick of butter in it. It was saturated with butter. I ordered a slice of cake for dessert, and it was very dense and heavy. It wasn't light and airy the way that you would think that a cake would be.

My family, and some friends of ours, recently came here to give it a go. We were not impressed in the least! The food was mediocre at best, and I would like to say that the shrimp and grits was the absolute worst I have ever had! Imagine ordering shrimp and grits and have it completely drenched in Hollandaise sauce. I don't know what they used for the sauce, but hollandaise is the closest thing I can compare it to. It was just terrible. Also concerning food, we ordered the spinach dip and no one in our party continued eating it. It tasted nothing like spinach artichoke dip! It was closer to a broccoli soup in taste and texture.

On to another more serious matter, we had our 9 month old and we placed her in the high chair that was provided. It was faulty! After a few moments, our 9 month old starts to slid out the bottom of it and the only thing that saved her from falling out was her HEAD GETTING STUCK!! When we brought this to the wait staff, they acted as if it was no concern. As we were swapping out that chair for another, that one was ALSO broken.

Overall, we were just terribly let down! The food was excusable, food is always subjective, but the fact that our 9 month old could have been seriously injured and we never even received a visit from management asking if she was okay. That... is inexcusable! Will not return, nor will we encourage...

What a disappointment. For the appetizer we started out with the double greasy fried mushrooms. Followed up 30 seconds later with my lettuce and cheese house salad and my husbands gallon of Caesar dressing on lettuce. Followed 1 minute later…(.seriously, it’s not crowded at all, can we take a breather? I don’t think you need the table that bad. ) Okay, what was I saying? My entree was Blackened chicken with a sweet potato with a pound of butter on it. I’m glad I said no to the loaded option. You know sometimes less is more. The chicken wasn’t bad. It didn’t taste like any blackened chicken I have had in the past, but at least it was moist. My poor husband couldn’t eat any of his dinner. He said the fries tasted like old fries that were refried, at least twice. Then he ordered a prime rib sandwich. Now , my husband is pickier than I am so when I saw him take a bite and then push his plate away, I asked him how could the prime rib be bad. He said it just tasted bad. Really fatty. Unlike any prime rib he ever had. Well, I wasn’t sure it could be that bad so I asked to taste a bite. Yes, it was that bad. It was just like he said. It tasted really fatty. Do they soak it in lard? I don’t know. What I do know is that’s the last time we’ll be going to the Saluda River Grill. At least the Angry...

My family and I went last night to Saluda River Grill for the $5 cheeseburger plate. Food was ok, service not so much. My husband's drink sat empty for quite a while as did my water. Waitress looked frazzled/perplexed and we were put on the "backburner" so to speak and still I didn't complain. My son was finishing his drink and bit into what he thought was ice and it turned out to be glass. There were at least 2 pieces of glass inside his unchipped glass. I brought this to the attention of our waitress. she took the glass to the bar/manager. We were told that the manager and owner would be over to talk with us. After a while the young manager came over to apologize but didn't really offer anything, the OWNER Randy however was more concerned with talking to someone he apparently knew than coming over to see if my son was ok or to even bother to personally apologize for what happened in "his" restaurant. I guess this is to be expected though when this is not yours but instead is your father n laws/wife's restaurant. I would think that a child that bite into glass in supposedly YOUR restaurant would matter to you and you would personally want to handle the situation! Maybe that's why you didn't last as a store manager of Save A Lot when it...
