Longtime customer because we’re fans of the sushi rolls and that we can get the 8 pieces for half price on Sundays, etcetera, but the service here, while traditionally at best slow, has the last two times we’ve been here been abysmally so. The last time I was coming from a divorce meeting and I ordered an appetizer-one of my favorites, along with our beverage order. The place was virtually empty and the beer took 15 minutes and the appetizer took 30 minutes and came AFTER the meal that was subsequently ordered. And the people acted like I was in the wrong for being impatient and questioning the whole experience! Thought about writing an angry review back then but instead just avoided for months. Decided to give it another try yesterday. The server said she’d waited on us before so in my mind she should know that we having been servers ourselves are normally excellent tippers so therefore we should expect acceptable service at least, right?! WRONG! Tell me why A) after our draft beers were dropped off without giving us a chance to place our order it took TWENTY MINUTES for her to return to FINALLY take our order, and B) how when we told her this is not Sam Adam’s Seasonal (it was probably porch but she didn’t care to get to bottom of, just oh well..) yeah just shrugs shoulders, so apathetic, with three tables at 6:30 on a Sunday night. I will say that the rolls we ordered themselves were excellent, to the point that were we not so frustrated with the service we would have pursued tipping the chef as well but yeah it’s a shame this place has zero front of the house management and the same is true for the nice atmosphere one in the beach where 18% gratuity is automatically included as well. Read moreMy friends, family and I went for dinner. We ordered our drinks took a little long at first and had to ask a second time for one of the drinks. Second round of drinks we had to go to the bar and ask because we waited around 30 minutes and the bar tender was not at the bar and then said the drink order was just put in. Food came out at different times and two meals did not come. After waiting around 40 minutes at least we got up to ask where the two entree’s were. We were told the grill was being cleaned so the food would be cooked on a clean surface. After another 20 minutes decided to cancel the portion of food that we were waiting on. The manager said they had a gas leak on the grill and that’s why it was down. If there is a gas leak they need to shut down and have it repaired. After all said and done we paid for some food and drinks at a discounted rate but management blamed everything on the server on her third night of work. Very unprofessional and our night was ruined. Will not ever go back...
Read moreWARNING!!! DO NOT GO THERE!!! The service SUCKS!!! My husband and I are locals of Myrtle Beach and go to the 21st Ave location frequently. Some friends of ours told us that this location on Hwy 544 had 1/2 price sushi on Tuesdays so we decided to give it a try otherwise we would have NEVER driven 4 times as far to go here verses the one in MB. We got there at 7:40 pm. I watched 3 parties come in after us, order, eat, pay and leave and still no sushi for us. Other tables around us kept getting the wrong orders or were missing dishes and only getting half of their orders. An HOUR later, when the fourth party that was sitting right next to us got their sushi, I told the waitress that we were leaving! She came back with the manager on duty and HALF of our order. He said he would give us a locals discount. WE ARE LOCALS! so you really didn't give us jack for having to wait almost 2 HOURS for sushi that doesn't even need to be cooked!
