Tony's Pizza & Subs — Restaurant in South Carolina

I just wanted to say that I ordered two large supreme pizzas and I am not one to complain that often as I use to work in food service myself. I know that things happen sometimes , but first of all as I was eating my slice of pizza I discovered a hair baked into the cheese. Yuck....but I know that it does happen sometimes. I called them to let them know I found a hair in it , I know it was from there because it had been baked in.....they offered to put my name on the "board" to get a replacement when I would like. That's fine....the real problem was with the second pizza later on....the crust was not done you could literally put your finger on it and it was dough.....so.....I took this pizza in to the place and showed the guy at the register how the whole crust was dough not done....he said oh it was because it was sitting for a couple of hours before eating it that it went back to dough....weird I know....so he gave me the money back for it and asked if he could cook me something else , I said I would like another pizza if you will make sure the crust is done....he said no use in making another pizza if you didn't like this one and had hair in the other one....Im sorry but that is not quality customer service. I would never lie about these things like I said I worked in food all my life....never had a dough item return to dough after its baked.....if that were the case all bread would be dough when you bought it in the store.....not satisfied with...

We've been to two other Tony's in the past, the one in Five Forks (years ago) and the now-closed store on Pelham Rd.

This is by far the best of the Tony's Pizza & Subs.

The place was clean, everyone was friendly, the service was excellent, and the food. My Lord, the food.

We started off with a pair of side salads with their Greek vinaigrette, which is delicious, with just a little banana peppery kick. SO good.

The cheesy breadsticks are more of a garliced cheese pizza and are just delicious. The marinara looks watery, but tastes SO good, and has huge chunks of tomato. My test is, if you can eat it with a fork, it's the good stuff, and this marinara doesn't disappoint!

We also got two large pizzas- the supreme, and the meat. Everything was excellent, but the supreme in particular was cheesy, the veggies were perfect, everything was just insanely good, and the three of us got out for just a little over $40 before tip.

We've always enjoyed the food at the other Tony's we've been to, but this one was superior in every way. Beautifully crispy crust on the pizza, delicious food, affordable, and- and this is the reason we went there- it's one of the few places left where you can get a pizza and sit down with friends and family and enjoy it. In a world rapidly being overrun with carryout stores, this was easily worth the drive from Easley, and was just a great...

Normally I love this place but now idk what the hell happened but the cheese both looks and tastes totally different now and it wasn’t that good and I even threw up a little after so it took my mouth and stomach that long to realize that I didn’t really like it. I told the manager and asked if they changed their recipe and he said no it was still the same. That’s how you know they’re either lying, used a substitute cheese because they ran out of their own, or used expired cheese. Also I’ve ordered from here many times and it was always great but the last time I ordered before today, the pizza was a little burnt and too many bubbles so I asked them to remake it and it was the same or even worse the second time but of course I just let it go and walked out and ate a half decent pizza.

Plus when I sent it back the first time I overheard the guy tell another employee “there ain’t nothing wrong with this pizza. NOTHING! If he says anything on this next one, I’ll tell him to go somewhere else.” So yeah, it depends who is working on what days but you never know. I will give one more chance and if things change in the future I might update my review but if the same thing happens again, I will sadly never return to this place ever again or at least not this location. Hopefully you never have a bad experience here like one of those multiple times but if you do, then avoid...
