My friends and family have dined at “Twisted” many times over the years trying to support local businesses given we live right down the street. We haven’t been there in a few months, but I was greeted with a new sign on the table this visit, an $8 sharing charge. My wife and I normally share a pasta dish (its large), maybe get an extra salad and drinks, so seeing a sign stating I would be charged extra started the night off on the wrong note. I understand some restaurants have a sharing fee, ie Hibachi, but in those cases you split the protein and both get a portion of rice, vegetables, salad and soup, no issue with that. I asked the waiter if the $8 sharing fee came with a larger portion or extra bread or a salad and was told no, it’s the exact same meal, just 8 dollars more. Now my common sense kicked in and I questioned this, he seemed to care less about my concern.
The $22 pasta is now $30 for the exact same thing you get for $22, seems illogical.
I have two unsolicited opinions from a long-time customer: America clearly has a problem, more than 2 in 5 adults (42.4%) have obesity (including severe obesity) and heart disease is the leading cause of death. If you don’t want people to share, make the portions smaller, charge $12-14, then you end up selling two entrees and coming out a little ahead. The kids’ portion is enough for adults in our family as well. This is a “fee” for trying to make a healthier decision. You could provide something extra if you are deadset on charging $8 for absolutely nothing different for the customer.
In the end, it’s just one person’s feedback, but the 8 guests at our table joked about this stupid sign all night and how insane that was, we ended up ordering less entrees, drinks, and appetizers than we would have due to the annoyance, we took our “too large” to go boxes and shared at home, 2 minutes away. This will work for the “season” when people will only come once and head back to their home up north or wherever from their vacation, but I can assume this will rub regulars the wrong way and hurt repeat customers.
Again, just one person’s opinion and a private businesses can do whatever they wish, customer’s also have a plethora of options in...
Read moreMe, my great-aunt, and my sister decided to eat out our last night of our vacation. We passed the "Twisted" sign many times on the way to the pool of where we were staying. My aunt wanted to try it, and we went tonight. I loved how it looked as soon as we got in there. It was very cozy and lively in a way. I went back to the room to get something, which probably took around almost 10 minutes since I had to take the elevator. When I came back, our drink orders still had not been taken. Eventually, we ordered our drinks. When he got them back to us, my aunt got a Margarita, my sister a Pepsi, and I got some sweet tea. When I took a sip of my tea, it was very watered down. My aunt also complained about how her drink didn't taste like the type of Margarita she was expecting. We brushed it off and ordered our food after. My sister and I both got Lasagna's, while my aunt, a steak. It didn't take long, thankfully, and the food looked very good. I scanned my food a few seconds and noticed the meat actually looked like steaks, right when they come off the grill. It didn't faze me at all, and I started to eat. I didn't like the cheese or the meat, so I ended up eating the noodles, which had good sauce. My sister didn't really care for the food either. When my aunt's steak was brought out, they had cooked it wrong. It was well done instead of medium rare. She sent it back, and a little later, they came out with the right version this time. As she was eating, she started to complain about the taste of it. It was good but not the best. I took a piece and noticed the steak was very fatty. So, in the end, I'd give it a 2.5 out of 5. The price was not worth it for the quality of the food. I wouldn't recommend it, really. I don't mean to be rude, but the three of us personally did not enjoy it. Sorry this was so long, but I...
Read moreWent here to enjoy happy hour and then decided to stay for dinner. While the food and drinks were good the atmosphere and attitude of staff left much to be desired. Upon arrival of our check we questioned the cost of a couple of our drinks as they were ordered during "happy hour" but charged full price. Our server, Brian said that was only if you sat at the bar. Our response was...no one told us that...his response with a shoulder shrug "that's the way it is, sorry" and walked away. REALLY! We were the only people in the restaurant for most of happy hour and when we walked in we mentioned we were there for happy hour. He couldn't have told us up front!?! And does the seat you are in really cost the establishment more $!?!?!COME ON!?!? Then, we just pay the darn bill and when he brings the receipt to be signed it's $6 more than what the check was.....so we questioned that as the itemized bill has now disappeared. Brian's response...."There's a surcharge for paying with all debit and credit cards and there's a sign on the door" as he is walking away. Again....you couldn't mention that when we present a credit card?!?! A little heads up would've been nice. Again good food but the staff is awful....
