Yoshi Japanese Restaurant — Restaurant in South Carolina

Was long time customers; went in for sushi, and ordered some rolls. Went to order more, and a Yoshi roll, waitress(new) brought Yoshi hot dinner. We sent it back, wanting Yoshi sushi... waitress comes back to table insisting we ordered hot dinner and even suggested we ordered the steak medium! (NEVER happened!!) Yoshi sushi finally comes out, and the young man who brought it told us WE needed to be clear when ordering!! Asked for the owner to come out and speak with us, but for some reason she did not even though she brought our drinks out and I said hello. The other waitresses were never an issue, and would even bring our drinks/sushi menu as they knew what we wanted from us always being there... Having said all that, we went to pay the check and found that they had put TWO Yoshi hot dinners on the check that we didn't even eat!!! I have tried to support this business but we are NEVER GOING BACK. Can no...

We went in Sunday after church very busy but had a nice waitress but I did notice the little old Japanese lady was very rude yelling at her staff very unprofessional tell them to do everything while she just stood there doing nothing basically she walked up to your table and laid all the cleaning supplies, downs, yelling , clean this up to her staff idk why she couldn’t help out in the restaurant instead of yelling at people … but the food wasn’t good at all the rice was over cooked the steak wasn’t cooked the way I asked the mushrooms wasn’t even cooked all the way. This was my first and last time going I will not be back! Little Japanese lady please be try to help...

My review is strictly based on hibachi menu items. As that is what I typically order at joints such as this one.

Portion size for hibachi items is slightly smaller than other nearby locations. Price is about the same. Presentation of the food is nice and quality seems on par with the others.

A lot of people seem to really enjoy the dining area, but its really just a lot cramped tables. For lunch it is fine. For anything more social such as a evening out with friends or a date, it will leave you wishing they had dividers for more privacy. Their limited space certainly contributes to this problem.
