Zaxbys Chicken Fingers & Buffalo Wings — Restaurant in South Carolina

I would like to formally update my review based off of a phone call I received from management after from review. I spoke with Shawn who saw my review immediately after I posted it. Shawn reassured me he was in shock that the building had been left this way since he had just worked the day before. I understand we may have come in after the rush. He let me know they did a full Powerwash in those restrooms including the child changing area. He had also let me know they spent some time deep cleaning this location as well after viewing the review. He spoke with his cooks that worked that day and discussed sending out food that fit The Zaxby standards and that they had not done that on this day. I feel confident is Shawn’s responses and am grateful we were able to formally chat about this unfortunate visit that we had. I am hoping someone can once again review this location to give them a better grade than I am able to. I have raised my rating from a 1 to a 4 after hearing all the hard work they have and will be putting in to make this location a prime location as a competitor to its other most competitive competitors. Keep it up Team Shawn! ————————- This is by far the most disgusting Zaxbys I have ever been to. We traveled from Georgia on our way to our vacation with a higher standard of Zaxbys than this location gave. We were greeted and our order was taken by a nice young lady.

After exploring the overall appeal of this location I found that it was absolutely filthy from top to bottom. I truly do not believe this location has been cleaned properly in years.

I took an over view of the restrooms which, besides the musty scent I found that it was filthy on the inside of the stalls. Diaper changing table had food in it and looked liked filthy the toilet had flies feasting, toilet paper on the floors. Mirrors, doorknobs, stall doors all filthy.

Someone truly needs to call the health department on this location.

We received our food we ordered 3 chicken meals 1 chicken patty for my toddler. BURNT!! All were burnt. The fries looked and tasted fine. I did not see a manager presence otherwise we would’ve have spoke with someone. This location was not busy on a Monday at 2:00 pm. We decided to eat the fries and throw our food out it tasted like rubber and it was burnt. The unsweet tea tasted old. The floors had to of been mopped with grease myself and my elderly in laws had to hold onto random things to stay afoot.

This was probably one of the worst experiences at a Zaxbys I have ever had.

The one positive thing I would I say was the friendliness of the young lady who took our order. I really hope Zaxbys travels to their locations at some point to see the perspective from their customers. I understand that corporate can be a fickle creature in the food industry, but you wouldn’t see a ChikFilA pulling this or a Buccees.

The night crew needs an overhaul. Ordered an hour in advance and still had to wait an additional 20 minutes before receiving my meal. While waiting, the crew up front seemed lost and didn't much pay attention to the guest at the counter. Anyway, once I was back at my hotel I noticed that the box that should have contained cheesecake bites had french fries in it instead. I was staying nearby and decided to walk back to get my order corrected, by the time I arrived the dining room had closed so I wound up having to stand outside the drive thru trying to get someone's attention since no one was answering the phone. They finally gave me the cheesecake bites and I headed back to my room only to find the strawberry sauce was missing, I give up

*Update - I received a call from the manager the very next day (and now that I think of it, not sure how he had my phone # 🤨) but anyway, he apologized for the inconvenience and the service I received, along with giving me a complete refund. This Zaxby’s is filthy. We are from out of state and we go out of our way to stop at Zaxby’s and we have never encountered one we weren’t happy with until now. Everything was sticky and disgusting. The dining room was a mess. The tables were in shambles. I could not bring myself to sit down and eat in their dining room once I saw the state of it. We ended up taking our food to go and eating in our car. The employees were incredibly rude and miserable and never called our order number out so our food was sitting. When my husband pointed this out, the girl was rude and rolled her eyes. On his way out the door with our food, he dropped a drink and the manager just stared at him and didn’t say a word. The toast isn’t toasted - it’s literally just white bread with a little butter on it. What a disgrace to the Zaxby’s chain this...
