Tonight, Tuesday June 18, I took my family to Zeppelin on Johns Island. We frequent your restaurant on the average 4 to 5 times a month either with dine in or delivery. Tonight's experience was very upsetting.
We sat at the bar and were waited on by a female bartender that was around 33 years old with brown hair. We arrived there around 730pm, ordered drinks and then dinner along with participating in Trivia night.
All was well until the end of the night when we went to close out around 9pm. I had to ask twice for the check. When the receipt was brought back to me to sign, my card was not returned. After several attempts to get the Bartender's attention, she came over and I told her my card was not returned. That is when the attitude changed. She got defensive and stated I don't have it, but I can help you look for it. Checked all around the chairs on our side of the bar. We all told her to check the other patrons to ensure it had not been returned with someone's check. She stated that was not possible, and she had to close out the other patrons that were all trying to leave after Trivia then she would look for it. We asked her to check on the counter and on the floor under the coolers and kegerator. She took her phone flashlight and waved it around but did not appear to be very concerned. I asked for the manager and for her to get someone to help her look. Her response was I had to wait for the manager to come back from a delivery. One of my companions stated that she did not appear to be very concerned with finding my card and for a bartender to misplace it in the 10 feet from the register to us at the bar was unacceptable. Her response is " I don't like to call myself a bartender but a mixologist." When my companion pointed out she was being very rude, she stated if you have an attitude towards me, I can be rude to you.
The manager Lauren finally came back after the 30 minutes I had been waiting for my card to be returned to me. She sent the bartender to the back with the trash can to go through it to look for my card. Lauren assured me she would talk to her and proceeded to start searching behind the bar for my card. Within a few seconds Lauren had found it on the floor in front of the slush machines and returned it to me.
I advised Lauren that we were regular patrons of your restaurant and were not at all happy at how our night ended or the attitude of your bartender. I advised Lauren I was originally going to leave a generous tip for our meal but took that back and left none. Lauren stated she understood and would talk to the bartender. I spent over $60 for food and drink tonight and do not feel there was any empathy or remorse on the part of your manager for the situation and certainly none on the part of your bartender. My family and I are not very inclined to return to Zeppelins in the future based on the customer service received...
Read moreI give the pizza a 3/5. Better than the chains, can’t hold a candle to JI Pizza or Paisanos. I give the customer service a 0/5. A 0/100. This was my first experience with Zeppelin Pizza. I ordered delivery to my mom’s place that is 0.2 miles from the restaurant because we’d been up since dawn moving my mother from NC to Johns Island. I placed my order online at 6:52 with a delivery time of 8:22. I thought this was awfully long, but it’s Saturday and I am used to Paisanos who says an hour delivery and always arrives early. At 8:30, no pizza. Called the store and curtly told “it’s out for delivery and close by”. At 8:52, I called again and was rudely told there was an issue with delivery. My pizza arrived cold and soggy at 9:20. Almost 3 hours after my order was placed. The delivery person was on the wrong side of the road - I have VERY specific directions to help him find his way. As he hands me the soggy pizza, he tells me he had a delivery “out in the sticks” before me and his phone died and he got lost. Aside from the fact that our place was in such close proximity, my issue is the restaurant could have called to tell me it was running late, they could have given me a realistic arrival rather than “its on its way” for over an hour, they could have apologized, they could have offered a discount or lowered the price- they could have done several things to keep my business. Worst of all, I stupidly tipped 30% at the time of order because I know times are hard and I was trying to be generous. I see all the 5 star reviews and assume none of these people had a bad experience. I would not post this review if the restaurant had reached out to me with a simple phone call and apologized for running late. Oh, and hire drivers that know how to charge a cell phone. Best of luck Zeppelin- lack of planning on your part does not justify terrible customer service. Honesty, accountability and humility...
Read moreSat at the bar due to the rain and was optimistic about previous reviews. I travel all over the world for work and get to experience incredible life experiences and incredible food! Unfortunately, this was not one of those experiences. The bar was empty, and yet getting the female bartender “Corey” attention, was impossible. Her inability to smile, I gave in conversation, and inability/desire to follow up on Zeppelin clients is mind blowing.
Ive never seen a bartender be more concerned about her phone and dump jokes with her friends/co-workers who are sitting at the end of the bar.
I’d like to thank you personally for offending my two great female friends with your offensive language and jokes who had to excuse themselves to the bathroom to collect their thoughts.
Not sure who hires people here at this business but if this is business was one of the three I own, you both would never again work for myself or any other company I’m affiliated with.
Worst experience anywhere in Charleston thus far, and hope this never happens to anyone else.
Zeppelin/Ownership, please advise and be aware. Locals will not keep this business alive all on their own; especially when they are drinking...
