Parthenon Restaurant — Restaurant in South Hadley

Everyone is so cheerful, nice and friendly. When you walk in and they seat you, if you ask them if you can sit in a booth, they'll bring you to a booth and ask if this one is ok. As for the menu, I don't remember if they have a kids menu. They don't have a section of what drinks they have, I can't have soda so it would be nice if they had a better selection because the only cold drinks they have (non alcohol) is lemonade and unsweetened ice tea. It should be sweet like me lol For my dinner I had chicken parmesan with ziti. It was a good portion but the chicken parm was really thin. I wish it was nice and thick. It comes with a soup or salad. I decided to have soup this time. I never heard of a meatball soup before so I figured I'd try something different and even though I don't like soup, it was amazing and so delicious they should have it more often. I also had garlic bread with cheese on it. That was delicious too even though I had to pay $2.49 more for the extra cheese and some of the bread didn't have anything on it, it was still worth it. Decided to come here after waiting an hour at the Boathouse/Brunel‘s marina for a normally Mediocre yet expensive meal there.... The parthenon restaurant was not busy the staff was very friendly the food was abundant and very good the price was very good. We had a bottle of wine nice fresh rolls my girlfriend ordered a Greek sampler platter which was outstanding I had the chicken Parmesan it was huge we both had lots of leftovers. We went back the next week I ordered the baked stuff scrod it was very good I came with a huge bowl of broccoli side order of pasta my girlfriend ordered another Greek special which came with a huge Greek salad lots of feta cheese we met the owner he bought us both a glass of wine and chatted with us . This is our new favorite place it’s inexpensive , you get lots of food ! If there’ are any issues the staff are more than happy to take care of anything. ...

Came back to change an enthusiastic '5' to a '4'. I'll stay w/everything I wrote below, but the freshness factor in veggies needs to improve. Review from last year: It's a fine local restaurant, not "fancy" or haute cuisine 🙂, but w/delicious & healthy options. Always friendly service, fresh salads, varied beverage choices (including Retsina wine), & quick takeout or booth sitting. My personal favorites are the baked dishes, pizza & veggie grinder (w/extra cheese as a good to-go meal--I add fries sometimes). One suggestion I have would be a choice of bread for 12" grinders -- whole wheat or mixed grains. They have gluten-free dishes, which a friend of mine likes. This is a solid local eatery that's been around since Dimitris Pananas opened in 1994! If you haven't tried Parthenon or been for a while, I think you'll like it. 'Kalí óreksi!'...
