This is not your normal asian food spot. This is the most authentic Asian restaurant around here. Whenever I come here I know I won't leave disappointed. Thai food is already amazing but this is on another level. My favorite dish is the yellow curry duck with sticky rice. 😋 then I also order beef larp. That's asian salad with a kick of pepper 🌶 soooo good with sticky rice. I find myself eating with my fork and spoon but end up eating with my hands 🤣 it taste best when you eat certain asian food with your hands 💕 just pls wash your hands ahead of time and sanitize.you have to get the beef jerky. Also goes good with sticky rice and a sauce. The owner even made us his own special sauce to try. Omg it was amazing. I don't even know what that sauce was called but there's so much flavor to every meal. The atmosphere is nice and cozy. They go above and beyond for their customers. I took my sister here for her birthday once and asked if I could come out to celebrate her birthday in a air blow pig costum cause she was born on the year of a pig. We had a ball and so many memories. This place feels like home. You don't get service like this everywhere. The place is so clean and they also have a nice bar in the front. The drinks are amazing. Props to the bartender🥰 can't just have 1 drink lol....I heard the pho soup here is 10/10...I just never tried it because I'm already full from everything else I just ate. It's hard to have left overs. You won't want to drive after eating here🤣 food coma. But thank you for keeping the authentic asian culture alive through your food and you welcoming auras.
*By the way they do have a food truck so if you see it at any of your town fairs...give it a try. I love the pad thai noodles 🍜 ....curry chicken on white rice 🍚 😋...Just try the...
Read moreThe story of the $0 tip. Before the restaurant decided to place their own tip.
The waitress (which for her sake I will not mention her name) was atrocious. Took forever to place a drink order for a party of five. When someone in our party asked for a drink menu, this only dragged out the process. The waitress then sent over the bartender because she could not understand the drink order well enough.
She came back several times sporadically. A plate here. Some silverware there. Then some glasses. Eventually came the waters. Our food came and for those of us who had ordered sodas, they still weren’t there yet.
Asking for takeout boxes was another time costly mistake. Maybe 10+ minutes. I digress; she asked “is there anything else I can get for you guys?” In a way that made me question if she forgot about our check. Yes, the check please.
insert another 5-8 minutes here
After we placed our form of payment in the tab, it was evident that she was not coming back to the table. Our party walked up the front and seemed out the manager to cash us out. After we wrote down $0.00 as a tip, we waited for the manager to come back to explain to him why we tipped the waitress $0.00. We waited for a couple minutes before we got fed up and left.
-The food is decent and the menu is extensive. -The restaurant is clean and has a nice atmosphere. -The waiting staff is terrible and clearly lacking some moral standards.
We will be be calling the credit card company and getting ahold of The Thai Place in order to rectify this.
I was taught to tip generously. In fact, I can’t name a time where I’ve left a tip under 20%. However, tipping for a service which I did not receive did not sit right with me.
Will not be a returning customer; dining-in or...
Read moreJust wow! From the start, the service was outstanding. The staff greeted me with genuine warmth, and it wasn’t just the smiles—it was the way they seemed truly happy to have me there. And then, there was Simon, the owner. He floated through the dining room, making each guest feel like they were the most important person in the world. Simon isn’t just the heart of the place; he’s the spark, entertaining guests with stories that kept us laughing and completely at ease. At one point, he shared a story about the time Harrison Ford dined there, and he admitted he had no idea who Ford was! It’s that kind of unfiltered charm that you don’t forget.
I ordered the yellow curry with chicken, and each bite was better than the last. The curry had a rich, creamy coconut milk base, balanced with just the right amount of savory and acidity. The texture was fantastic, with crinkled potatoes adding a unique touch and crunchy peppers that kept each mouthful interesting. Pineapples in the curry were a pleasant surprise. It isn’t traditional, but it worked here, adding a sweet contrast that elevated the dish. Now I don’t want curry any other way! And let’s talk about the Thai iced tea—this was on a different level, one of the best I’ve ever had.
Between the quality food, the service, and Simon’s stories, this restaurant is an absolute gem—a place that feels both familiar and adventurous. It’s not often you find a place that nails food and hospitality like this. If you’re looking for an unforgettable dining...
