I enthusiastically recommended the Cheesesteak Eggrolls at Three Blondes Brewing in South Haven, Michigan. This appetizer is perfectly crispy on the outside and ooey gooey on the inside with tender steak and cheese instead of cabbage. Then you get to dip it into beer cheese! What could be better than that? The steak is very tender and fulfilled the cheesesteak nomenclature with caramelized onion and poblano pepper and a cheese blend. We each got a flight of four 5 oz. craft brews served with rye chips and the dip of the day. I liked how the beer flights were served with a pallet cleanser. They call it Sips & Dip. I found all four of my beer choices excellent; but for me, the Belgian called Polycephaly was the winner, showcasing the complexities of Ekuanot hops. My buddy’s favorite was Trees & Seas, an IPA with a crisp citrus flavor. Next, we split some tacos. The dish comes with three grilled tortillas and a choice of chicken, pulled pork, perch, veggie or our choice, Marinated Sirloin Steak. They came served piping-hot with a side of tortilla chips and beer cheese. The steak was loaded with flavor which was enhanced by the queso fresco that was beginning to melt. Pico de gallo, candied jalapeños, pickled onion and cilantro-lime crème garnished the top. I loved the balanced heat and how the sharpness of the pickled onion cut through the flavors. We split a Light & Fresh pub pizza, which used basil pesto as its base, topped with fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, mushrooms, yellow tomato, olive oil, arugula and a balsamic glaze. The crust was thin and crisp but still had a little chew of the dough. The girls talked us into dessert…The Hot Blondie. It was served in a hot cast iron mini skillet with a warm chocolate chip cookie nestled in the bottom. The cookie was topped with Sherman’s vanilla ice cream, chocolate and caramel sauce and whipped cream. Sherman’s Ice Cream is made right down the road and is an iconic business in South Haven. This restaurant/brewery is a new build-out, attached to VanDerZee Motorplex, one of the coolest motorsport vehicle dealerships...
Read moreI went to eat here two days ago for the first time. Me and my family were super excited as we have heard alot of great things. Our excitement was quickly crushed as we opened our food. I think the first frustration was ordering and being told our wait time was 2.5 hours and going in to them not being as busy as i expected. I've seen restaurants far busier that were able to get people their food way faster. But I think the most disappointing part was I only live 7 minutes from this restaurant and I brought my to-go order home. Straight home I made no stops. And when I opened up the food it was cold. Not only that but the tater tots and chips tasted stale like they had been sitting on a counter for an hour. The burger I got the bread was so mushy it fell apart when I picked it up. For being a mushroom burger there was very little mushrooms on it. My son's mac and cheese had so little cheese that he had to dump the cheese that came with his pretzel in it just for it to be edible. The soft pretzels were very clearly from a box Frozen. The ones that used to have at Subway were significantly better. And the tacos that my boyfriend got were disappointing as well. He had to pick apart half of the taco just to be able to eat it. There wasn't a way in the online ordering system to make changes to the food. Only thing that we got that was actually worth eating was the truffle fries that my son got. This was a waste of $60 because the food was so bad we threw over half of it away and ate something else. And the sad part is the presentation was incredible until you look deeper into the food or tasted it. I know there's no way to get my money back but it's almost worth the $60 to know that I won't be going back there.. or recommending this place to anybody. The other disappointing part was we waited two and a half hours for our food, I got there 25 minutes early and still had to wait another 15-20 minutes after the time we were given for our food to be ready. All around a very...
Read moreThree Blondes Brewery was absolutely the highlight of my husband and my trip to South Haven. There is an awesome outdoor area to hang out before or after a meal with an outdoor bar, games, seating, "fire pits", and sidewalk chalk for kids. Its comfortable and a great way to wait until they text you they are ready to seat you.
The menu is extensive with plenty of unique flavors to classic options. We were so impressed and intrigued we went two nights in a row. My husband had the Hot Brunette sandwich which included Texas toast, gravy, turkey, mashed potatoes, and green beans & carrots on the side. I had Chili lime cauliflower tacos. So much flavor!
The second night we had the Blondie bread, brussel sprouts, and Beer cheese Mac. Absolutely loved everything.
Alma was our server the first night, and Rose was the second. Every person that worked there was knowledgeable and friendly. You never feel rushed and have the feeling that the staff love being there. We even got to meet the middle blonde Carrie who stopped by at our table, and her dad was working with a , "Father of the Blondes," shirt on.
As a cider drinker I was happy there was a seasonal cider, Blueberry Lavender, and also tasty beer which says a lot since I typically don't like beer. Limey was my favorite, very limey which I liked and Boom Boom Betty was my husband's favorite.
Overall a wonderful experience that we look forward to having every time we visit...
