The Ocean Mist is to Rhode Island coastline, what Cheers was to Norm & Cliff, but better cause it’s on the ocean. Longtime fixture of the New England beach, Summer, & surf culture. For me, this legendary establishment conjures memories of college & formative adulthood years in the early 1990’s. The Ocean Mist dates back to the late eighties, but the building began it’s life much earlier, during the prohibition era. Given the dark lure & vintage funk that seems to hold the establishment together, it beckons a time & place that might seem out of place by the beautiful coastline. Don’t be mistaken, all of this adds to the vibe & mystic that make this beach bar, restaurant, live music venue a favorite among the locals. Any day or night of the week one might expect to find a bustling crowd of regulars, college students, &/or tourists clamoring for a bite a brewski & live entertainment. Like any decent bar worth a darn, The Mist has a descent selection of local & not-so-local micro brews & mixers. Many folks seem to clamor for the bloody mary or the mimosa during weekend brunch outings, which they are known for. Whether breakfast, lunch, or dinner is your calling, the menu boasts a hearty selection of offerings with mexi flare being a staple among those in the know. Add in an eclectic assortment of musical offerings, which range from local to national artists, as well as, DJs & you have one hell of a good time. Patrons would do themselves justice to stop by or planning there next outing at The Ocean Mist, as this is probably the coolest beach bar in the North East. Yours Truly, Scotty

My first time at Ocean Mist was over 30 years ago. Only missed the one year during Covid. It has not changed much over the years. The food has been great for as long as I can remember. You might go there for the location but will enjoy anything you order there. My goto is a plan burrito with a ranch water to drink. Love sitting near window or on the deck and watch the surfers. I like how it changes throughout the day. From an older crould to college students at night. I've not beent there for breakfast or after 10PM. Had a server once say "you might want to leave soon as there will be live music." I've danced there with a friend. The two reasons it almost deserves 4 Stars is parking has become a bigger problem and it can be so busy you will not get a table or even be able to order a drink easily. Both issues are caused by Ocean Mist being one of the coolest bars I go to. A rainy weekday is great since it's not usually busy. From 2001; Great after a day at the beach or kayaking.

It's a beach dive bar and it's glorious. It's exactly that. No more and no less. If you're disappointed with your visit there you didn't know where you were going and didn't read reviews. That's on you then, isn't it? Stuffies are not the same every time, but always good. If you smile at your waiter or bartender every now and then they're wonderful people. All the reviews about mediocre service I do not identify with and I've been to this place more times than I am comfortable admitting over the last 2 years. If you've ever worked in the service industry - WATCH these guys. Their silent dance is something to behold. If you don't like crowds of teens and young adults avoid Saturday morning.( Or get there before 11 to snatch a seat at the bar and enjoy the glorious people watching) Besides that this place is solid in my humble opinion. And that's BEFORE we get to the stupendously gorgeous views, salty air and roar of the ocean. Thank you for existing, Ocean Mist. Don't change.

We come here pretty often, it’s one of our favorite places. However, our most recent experience was not only the worst at ocean mist but one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had. We made a reservation online (because you can no longer call and speak to a person). When we arrived we had about a 20 min wait, which I can understand. The hostess was incredibly rude. She was calling the party names from the top of the stair case, with a mask on, while everyone waited on the ground below. She slung major attitude at everyone who couldn’t understand or hear her, my sincerest apologies for mis hearing a name that rhymed with mine. We were also reminded multiple times that we had a 75 min dining limit. Once we were ID’d at the door for some reason we were seated. We didn’t order our drinks until 40 min later, and ordered our food at 90 min. While ordering our waiter continuously gave us the hurry up hand motion and rudely told my friend to hurry up and tell him what she wanted WHILE she was ordering. When we called him out for not letting us talk he gave us the hurry up motion again. We also tried to put in a second drink order with our food and he abruptly said NO. He came back for our drink order, another half hour later. At the 2.5 hour Mark we got our food. We asked for our check with our food because we had plans and didn’t want to stay there any longer. We paid while we were eating. As we’re finishing up, the awful hostess from earlier came over and told us how they graciously gave us extra time and they needed us to leave. OH REALLY? You want us to leave?! We would love to! nothing would make us happier. We told her no, we were atleast finishing our food and she went and told the manager on us. The manager then offered to comp a round a drinks AFTER we paid and told us to come back on a Saturday because the staff is better then. Hahaha what?! Is there a better manager that day too!? As far as I’m concerned I’m done with this place. The $300 bill was not worth the bullying and my ENTIRE afternoon. Also my food tasted...

will never come to this establishment again, was the first and last time i ever went. i went with my boyfriend to enjoy a sunday afternoon by the water and upon entry, the bouncer let a group of teenage looking girls into the venue ahead of us. meanwhile, he stopped myself and my boyfriend, told us my boyfriend’s id checked out (mind you he had an out of state id from new jersey) and he was 100% confident my id (from rhode island) was fake. i assured the bouncer he could do whatever he needed to do to prove that it was a real, legit id, he could bend it, use an uv light, scan it, whatever this man needed to do to check this id i was fine with and apparently he didn’t like how calm i was with the whole situation because he proceeded to gaslight me the entire time telling me it wasn’t real and that he was going to have to get the cops involved and i would be looking at jail time. he kept making suggestive comments saying that he knows for a fact my id is fake, making disgusted faces at me and trying to get me to “cave” and admit that i had given him a fake id. at that point i told the bouncer please do get the cops involved because i would like my id back as he was holding it hostage and lo and behold guess what my id checked out because i am a 25 YEAR OLD WOMAN meanwhile, i know for a fact they’re letting 18 year olds into their venue using fake ids constantly. this bouncer is not only terrible at his job, but he is extremely rude and has horrible customer service and people skills. do not recommend coming here just for the process of dealing with the bouncer to get...
