South Kingstown Town Beach — Attraction in South Kingstown

The beach itself is okay. A bit rocky so be prepared to get scraped up a little bit if you don't have water shoes. It's really nice that they have a grassy area and a small playground, along with picnic tables. What really brings the stars down is their lifeguards. The ones that were on duty when we were there did not pay attention at all. Two sat next to each other in the lifeguard chair and just talk the whole time, not paying attention to what was going on in the water. One day they were more concerned with their tick tock videos then anybody else. The last day we were there the waves were so strong, it was scary. There were also riptides. We quickly learned that our youngest would not be able to go into the water with us at all but we really struggled to get her out. The lifeguards had no clue. There was another instance where three of my children, my sister, and another litte boy I didn't know we're stuck in a riptide. Once again, the life guards were none the wiser. Thankfully, I have read what to do when stuck in a ridtide and was able to safely guide everyone out of it without real panic or danger. (Although we all were a little shaken up). All that to say, I was extremely disappointed with how the lifeguards did not take a life saving...

Love it well taken care of beautiful view free to visit if you aren't parking on property plenty of lifeguards not recommended after Beach closes if you're not somewhat of a good swimmer little rough very strong undertow so small children adult should stay in the water with them especially when there no lifeguards on duty but beauty second to none even got married there 12 years ago and moved across the street but just like everything else down here it can get pretty busy in the summer months lot of vacationers for three months out of the year there's a mini grocery store in Delhi with a big selection Chance's are if u forgot something they will have it across the street 2 bars and restaurants right up the road a surf shop plenty of street parking 2 ice cream shops with in walking distance one of them attached to the beach also with in walking distance theater by the sea with some kind of play going on most nights makes for a good night out...

My spouse grew up down the road. This has always been a special place to us. The past many years has been devastating, the beach is TRASHED.
