A Second update: Eventually she was fired for unrelated reasons sooooo……
Update: Nothing I said was untrue. I know that my friend and Angeline have issues. However it doesn't make it right for your server to yell like she did. It is not an unfair portrayal because I only stated what happened and what my response would be to the situation. If you would like to reach out to me, I know your manager has my number.
The food is great and it’s close to work and home but it’s just not worth putting up with Angeline. Her behavior is irrational and erratic. It’s especially not worth it when she refused service to one of the people I was with.
Angeline threatened to call the cops and have this friend removed from the premises because of her personal issues with this person. We decided to leave with our friend and wanted to cash out. She continued to yell at the friend to leave even though we explained that we would leave once I had paid. During this she turned her attitude to me and decided to yell at me as well.
I have worked as a concierge at a near by resort for years. This resort is mentioned on the fox and hound website multiple times and has over 500 rooms. We have gotten many complaints about Angeline and her bad service in the past and took it with a grain of salt due to tourists overreacting. However actually seeing it with my own eyes is another story.
I’m not going to recommend fox anymore because it’s not a reliable place for our guests to have a good time. She’s never been the greatest server or bartender and has eaten my food before without asking. She might think it’s funny but I do not. Lately she has been going even further down the rabbit hole of bad service.
At this point I know more people than I don’t that refuse to go to fox and hound if she is working. That affects the restaurant and the other servers because they are receiving less money due to her bad behavior. It also affects our community because we don’t have any other places to eat/drink/gamble at the top of Kingsbury. I would rather support a small business than save my money so I’m going to take my business elsewhere until this...
Read moreMy wife found this place while looking for different eateries when we were up in Lake Tahoe. We decided to come check it out on our 6th day (8/8/24) in town.
The place is tucked away up the hill near the Ridge Resort which makes for a neat little drive there from Hwy 50 then 207. The dining area is relatively small. There’s a bar with seating around that also has slot/poker machines for those inclined to dry their luck. There are TV’s tuned to sport events for entertainment.
We were able to get a table right away. Our server was great. She was very nice and gave us the space and time to decide on our meal.
Our food arrived within about 15 minutes from the kitchen after ordering. All were neatly put together and well presented. My burger was good but nothing exceptional or exciting. I’ve had better burgers elsewhere. It was under seasoned and didn’t come across as a premium burger for the price. The tri-tip tacos were excellent and very yummy. The pepperoni pizza turned out great and was also very yummy. The Tri-tip plate was also very good. The pieces of BBQ tri-tip were delicious. The cheesesteak sandwich was also very good.
So how did Fox and Hound do?
Atmosphere 5/5. Food 4.75/5. Service 5/5. Value to Price Ratio 4.75/5. Overall Experience 4.5/5.
Fox & Hound was a good place to grab a bite to eat. If returning, I would opt for the Tri-tip plate or tri-tip tacos. The burgers came with a premium price but didn’t have the premium taste. That’s something to consider. We didn’t get any drinks so unable to comment/review.

Read moreFood was great. Service was good. First night in town we go to get dinner here (0.5 miles from where we are staying) as a group of 11 guys and we were okay with being split up. Eventually a server took us and we had a high top with 2 stools for 5 guys (surrounding tables took the original stools. We didn't complain, it was busy. So we eventually ordered, she ignored us for a good 15 min and avoided any type of eye contact and was clearly annoyed by our presence. So we ordered our food and drinks (BBQ platter) and just hung out BUT a high top got up and we asked to move so we could have seats. For some reason she said "no, they had to save it for the next table that might come in" in a very rude manner (there was no one waiting for a table). 10 minutes later she finally seats us at a smaller table but at least we had seats. We got our platter and it was decent BBQ. Best part is by that time the whole place cleared out and the table/seat availability was irrelevant. I've worked in hospitality for over 10 years between country clubs, night clubs, speak easy, and high end restaurants. This was some of the worst hospitality I've ever experienced. I'm assuming because we aren't locals or younger and servers think "we don't tip" or probably both. Poor manner of thinking in that profession. We went for breakfast another day while we were there and it was VERY good! If it wasn't for the location and food this would be a 2 star review because of how terrible that server was. I'm going to guess her name...
