Spirits Bar & Grill — Restaurant in South Milwaukee

Open again, but same dive. We went in the afternoon to check out the remodel, which was nicely done, but as in the past, the bartender was drunk, busy doing shots with her friends, and did not seem to have time for u. The bar was not very busy, except for the group the bartender was getting drunk with, and we still had a hard time getting drinks. She was very slow with the 2nd drink, as we sat with empty glasses for quite some time. When she finally took a break from her group, she did get us a drink on her, apologizing we had to wait so long. We never told her we had to wait, how did she know we didn't just go empty? Hmm, must have known she was ignoring us all along. Again, after we were ready for another, she was really having fun, and after over 15 minutes of waiting, we finally left, she never even knew we were gone. Cute gal, but why she is working as a bartender I will never know. She is better off on the other side of the bar! We may go back and check out night crowd, maybe bartender is better, and we can...

Great food and service during the day, Holly rocks! But the night peeps... Walked in at 11:30 and asked for a menu. Was told I had to hurry cuz they wanted to close the kitchen, (sign says food til 1) but no biggie. I knew what I wanted, but the young gal walked away and came back like 10 minutes later to take my order for chix tenders and fries, which came out pink, again, gimme a box and I'll take it home and finish it off. Literally 19 minutes later the 2 gals that went to the basement to get my box, dropped check on the bar and the ENTIRE time I was there I was never asked if I wanted something to drink. I gave up after waving n catching her eye as she turned to pretend she didn't see me.. I know I won't make or break your business, but damn, stop smoking pot and serve your customers. Small, food always comes out over cooked if you get tenders they taste like they were dropped in the deep fryer again bc you could barely bite through the crispy breading and the chicken inside was so dry tasted like it had been reheated instead of fresh. The one time I got fresh tenders they were so fresh the chicken wasn't white inside it was pink And tasted funny another time I didn't finish my food there. If you try and play safe and just get fries...well they come out so over cooked again you can barely chew them and the potatoes are like air inside. Bar owner is there every night Drunk and stumbling words and walking and if you say something to him and he doesn't like it you'll wish you never said anything at all, but then his co-owner wife is always im up and yake him home before he goes...
