BEST CHINESE FOOD, THIS SIDE OF CHINA TOWN.
Another GREAT meal from Wong Kok. Funny name, Great Food.
We shad the Orange chicken. Tender, juicy pieces of white meat in a spicy orange sauce. Delicious. We also had Shrimp Chow Mein. I ordered it with their Jumbo shrimp, for a small up-charge. Oh my was it ever good too.
They have the best fried rice. Our other favorites include their soups: egg drop, wonton, chicken corn soup, etc. Their appetizers are great. Their spring rolls and egg rolls are cooked perfectly and are crisp and delicious, and I really like the pork egg foo young, and pork fried rice. We eat there regularly or have it delivered. The food is always hot and fresh, and they are the nicest people. Finally, we really enjoy the "Four Seasons in a Nest" platter; Jumbo shrimp, chicken, beef and roast pork sauteed with broccoli, snow peas, mushrooms, bamboo shoots, carrots and baby corn served in a brown sauce. And it tastes healthy too.
HIGHLY...
Read moreWe have been ordering To-Go from Wong Kok for many years. They always come through with great food and service. Our favorites are Orange Chicken, Crispy Beef, Hunan Chicken, Combo Lo Mein, Pork Lo Mein, Green Beans, Spring Rolls, Combo Fried Rice, Chicken and Broccoli, Sweet and Sour Pork, etc. Nothing is ever drowning in sauce or too sweet (if you like it wet, say something). Portions are generous and great bang for your buck. I've heard they have the best house mustard in the area, if you're in to that sort of thing. We normally order about 8-10 entrees for 12 people and just about clean up. Double down on the Orange Chicken and Crispy Beef :) Parking is easy, getting in and out of South Riding is easy too. Our food is always prompt as we order ahead and pick...
Read moreI typically stay with the more common dishes. At this place, I have tried a few like the Lo meins, pupu platter, fried rices and soups all of which were very good. A few days ago I tried the Gen Tsaos which is one of my favorite Chinese dishes but I was a bit disappointed with it.
Great Gen Tsaos will have crispy pieces of chicken. Though these were NOT soggy dough balls of chicken, they were not crispy. Also, Gen Tsaos typically has hot red peppers, I didn't have a single one in mine. Lastly, I appreciate when it comes with a few vegetable slices, like carrots, none included here. The dish was not bad, but my two cents is that this dish could be easily improved with some minor adjustments in the kitchen (#1 crispy chicken, #2 hot peppers, #3 few...
