Duck Donuts — Restaurant in Virginia

Oh boy I came here for Fathers Day to get my husband some surprise donuts. First bad sign was a huge line of people waiting to get their orders. Probably 8 people ahead of me. Went to the counter and wasn’t acknowledged by the three employees working that day, thankfully I just used context clues and realized I could order on the little kiosk. Put that order in and watched the employees continue to ignore and customers while filling orders at a pretty casual/slow pace. I finally got my order and the food was very good I won’t deny that but they gotta work on their attitudes and their efficiency. I often placed large orders for my children's daycare's teachers. My experience today (Jan 10th) was far from pleasant. Upon entering the store, I saw that my order wasn't ready so I decided to sit down and wait. Then a red-haired female employee called me over abruptly and asked for the name of my order. When she learned that I had ordered four dozen donuts, her demeanor turned sour. She raised her eyebrows and informed me, in a rude tone, that I needed to wait. As she prepared my order, the same employee continued talking on her personal phone. Her anger was evident, and it made the situation uncomfortable. Also, the donuts themselves were not up to par compared to my previous orders. I was the only one in the shop, and there was a few tickets...

Several reviews say $10-20, but that's supposed to be "per person," so I feel like it's reasonably the $1-10 category. Local owned! I couldn't wait to take a bite, so please excuse the photo 😅. Donuts came fresh, soft, and warm. They're made to order, and the bacon maple was amazing! No fake/preserved bacon like some other places give, and the bacon was juicy, not dry nor tough. I also got a coffee frappe- not too sweet!!!! It's a huge compliment, at least from me. Most donut places make them so sugary and difficult to pair with a donut, so I'm glad I caved in to my curiosity. Service was nice and I hope more people come here- would love to see this place stick...
