This is my second review, and unfortunately, I had to further lower their star rating as employee behavior continues to be a recurring issue.
During my visit, I was browsing the clearance section and came across an item âa bundle of Tootifrooty boxesâ clearly marked at $2.99. The labeling was specific, stating what was included in the bundle and the total weight. There were multiple packets of the same item available. To be sure about the pricing before adding it to my cart, I asked one of the employees to verify the price. Instead of assisting, the employee casually suggested that I should check the price at the checkout. Following their advice, I placed the item in my cart and proceeded to the checkout for a price verification.
I want to emphasize that the $2.99 price tag for the entire bundle was displayed at multiple locations in the aisle â it wasnât a one-off mistake.
When we reached the register, we informed the cashier about the marked-down price and requested a price check. Instead of scanning it, the cashier immediately opened the packaging. We explained that the price applied to the entire box, not the individual packs inside. To avoid any confusion, we even accompanied him back to the aisle to show the marked price tags, which confirmed what we had said. Despite seeing the signage clearly, he still seemed skeptical. Without offering any apology or explanation, he abruptly tossed the whole box aside, saying they could not honor the marked price as it was incorrectly labeled.
What was even more disappointing was how he handled the rest of our checkout process. He began throwing the other items we were purchasing after scanning them. When we asked him politely not to throw our items â especially since it wasnât our fault the item was mislabeled â he defensively responded that he wasnât upset. Instead, he blamed it on the store's servers being down and said he was managing everything manually.
While technical issues can certainly add stress, that does not justify mistreating customers. As a staff member â and especially if he was the owner or manager â he should have demonstrated better coping skills and basic respect for customers. Mistakes happen, but professionalism and customer service are about how you...
Read moreWhat a rip-off!! This is a new review of prices at Triveni written on 10/22/25. Based on this review I'm changing my rating to 1 star from 3 star. Prices at Triveni are a total rip-off. I compared prices of a few items that I was buying on that day between Triveni and another Indian store and the results are shocking. Items are 30-40% more expensive at Triveni. Same brand, same quality and same packaging. The store I compared the prices with is India Bazar in Chantilly. Just to be sure, I donât work there, I donât know them and they donât know me. They donât know anything about this post. Iâm posting prices of 3 items. Decide for yourself if Triveniâs prices are even fair. Rice Triveni - 19.99, India Bazar-13.99 10 pounds red onion (exactly same bag) Triveni- 9.49, India Bazar-6.99 Nanak ghee 800gms- Triveni-14.99, India bazar-11.99 Pictures below. My old review from circa Nov 2024 Pros: Location, availability of goods including restaurant, meat shop, friendly staff. Cons: Restaurant food really bad except for a few items. Sweets terrible. Poor vegetable selection (though improved) and quality. Vegetable which should be dry are wet a lot of times. Worst bananas in whole of VA. Bad blinding lighting, bad or no music. They donât carry most basic things like Tylenol, soda, half n half etc. only Indian groceries. Almost donât give a damn for the rest attitude. Fresh Rotis really bad. Pav bun supposedly bakes on-site was stale. There is a lot that needs improvement especially in the restaurant. Donât let the cook make dishes they have no idea about like milk cake or chat. North Indian and South Indian cuisine needs totally different skills. They should know that. They think people will eat just anything. Yes, maybe for a short while! We all want this store to succeed for...
Read moreI visit the triveni for the vegetables every week and often to food court as well . Today i visited the food court and I had the worst Arabic Chicken Mandi at Triveni Food Court. The rice was just plain white basmati, completely flavorless, and the chicken wasnât even cooked properlyâit was raw and they didnât even remove the skin. I absolutely cannot stand eating raw meat, and this was completely unacceptable. When I raised my concern, the staff casually admitted that their food isnât up to standard and worst maintenance .
To make things worse, when I asked for the staff memberâs name, he refused to tell me, claiming he wasnât âsupposed to say.â When I insisted, he arrogantly told me to âdo anything you wantâ and just mention âTriveniâ in my review. Not only was the food terrible, but the behavior of the staff was even worse. We were politely giving feedback, but he took us outside of the food court to avoid others seeing. He even said, âThis is not a clothes shop to be complaining about what's good and what's not.â It was as if he thought he was offering free food and giving a free suggestions!
Worst Mandi, worst customer service, and zero respect for feedback. Avoid this place...
