Ordered a steak and shrimp quesadilla, and a taco. The female cashier acted impatient and like they were doing me a favor for allowing me to spend my money there. I've never been there before so I and my daughter had to look the menu over and she acted like1 "I'm too busy slicing onions to waste my time taking your order ". The music was blasting so I guess that's why she couldn't hear and rung up a burrito when I ordered a taco. When I corrected my order to her, then came the eye roll like it was my fault. Turn the damn music down! Maybe then, you can hear your customers. The taco was ok and tasted as good as a taco from anywhere else, but the quesadilla was unacceptable. The tortilla was burnt and the steak bits were dried out and hard to chew- my guess is it was cooked to just before being burnt or leftover from the day, or days, before and reheated. I've eaten many quesadillas before and while they can be a little greasy from the cheese this quesadilla was like an Exxon oil spill. We were the only customers in the place (that should have been a clue to us) and the cashier acted like we were holding up a line going out the door. Also, an empty restaurant would have been a good time to clean the dining area, but the tables were greasy and food bits were on the floor. If this was what the public area in view of the customers looked like, I'd hate to see the cooking area- couldn't see it; the counter is too high to see the grill. Can't see myself...
Read moreI've been to El Tesoro many times with my girlfriend, as we live just nearby. We both enjoy Mexican food regularly, and can confirm - It's one of the better fast casual Mexican places around. It's one of our go-to "classics" around the Daly City\Pacific\Westborough area. The food is always consistent, and I've never had anything bad here. My personal favorites are the pollo en salsa or the Chile Verde pork. I usually go for the super burrito, great size, good price, and every entree item or order of at least 2 tacos comes with free chips and a free salsa bar, which is excellent 👍. Sadly not enough Mexican places offer their chips or salsa for free, but these always taste fresh. I run out of the restaurant chips and end up using some chips from home to finish off the salsa it's so good! This isn't the best Mexican food I've ever had, but it is tasty and for its consistency, price, and free sides, it can't be easily beaten. The only drawback is that sometimes the staff are not exactly friendly, and food can take quite awhile if they have call in orders or others in line or seated in...
Read moreMy partner & I made the mistake of ordering a regular burrito instead of a super burrito and hadn't realized that it wasn't what I meant to purchase until we got to the car. I asked my fiance if he could go inside for me and tell them We ordered the wrong thing (we made the mistake). So he goes inside and politely compliments the burritos we have but that We ordered the wrong item. The woman at the counter responded with a terse and incredulous look, said nothing to him and proceeded to let her cooks know that the order needed to be redone. At any other facility, this would not have been a big deal. However, one of the cooks, being Hispanic and assuming my fiance (who is Irish) doesn't understand Spanish, called him "Hijo de Puta" (translated to English: Motherf*) behind the counter. My fiance was courteous, respectful and even offered to buy another super burrito instead in order to prevent any hassle or issue for them before being insulted. Their response was completely unprofessional and we do not recommend eating here. We will no longer be patrons at this...
