There are all sorts of burgers and fries in this world. The great thing about Five Guys is the consistency throughout the franchise and that they do BOTH well. (Sacramento, Phoenix are a few of the other places I've eaten at.) Burgers: Look, the burgers are fine at In & Out and the Habit. You do pay a little more compared to In&Out and you get a monster of a burger. A delicious ALL THE WAY or whatever toppings you want burger. This also isn't just my opinion, but out of town guests (national and international) are all impressed w/ Five Guys compared to any other burger join they've tried. Fries: Here's the truth: fries are not healthy in any aspect. Starch fried in oil... Hmmm... So they better taste good. Guess what? Their fries destroy In & Out's fries! (I've been tricked enough times by biased locals to just stop eating the fries. Even if you ask them to fry it longer, they still taste gross. Now, they just taste like burned gross. I believe the bias is due to nostalgia and the uniqueness of being able to animal style anything.) But at Five Guys, not only are the portions HUGE, irrespective of the size you purchase, the Cajun seasoning is GREAT! (I also love Red Robin's bottomless steak fries. But, that's a different type of fry that needs to be compared to in a different fry category.)
In the end, you might leave Five Guys a little lighter in the wallet than at another burger place, but the burger and fries are much more satisfying.
Plus, if the burger is too big, get a junior. Sorry, never tried...
Read moreThis is one of my go-to spots when craving a cajun fries, milkshake, or burger. There is nothing on this menu that I don't like. Inside the place is spacious and plenty of seating area. Nowadays, I place my order online. I had placed an order online and doordash. I set it up for pick up at a later time when I get off of work. Traffic wasn't too busy, so I got there before the scheduled pick-up time. When I arrived, I was greeted right away. I told them I was picking up, and they told me 4 minutes. I told them that was fine and I'll wait. It gave me time to get my sauces together. Everyone that I spoke to or helped me had great service with a smile. They were very attentive. They asked if I needed a bigger bag or a drink carrier. I highly recommend this place.
We ordered:
Little bacon cheeseburger with bbq sauce and grilled onions - This was so juicy and perfect with every bite. I devoured it
Bacon cheeseburger everything on it - My husband enhaled this, lol
Cajun fries - This is my favorite, I like it with a side of mayo. It helps cut the heat a little without losing he kick.
Strawberry shake and chocolate shake - They are always thick and creamy. I haven't tried a flavor that I...
Read moreFirst time trying Five Guys, completely disappointed in the food and the service. First off the cashier an elderly woman was rude and impatient. Rushing the customers as they were ordering. Then she didn’t let us finish our order and she didn’t give us our drink but charged us for a meal even though only one of us ordered a meal (we didn’t realize till after). Maybe slow down. Secondly, for the insane price I expected to taste something really good. Not. For $25 I got a burger that was soggy and squished. Why did I spend $13.59 on a burger that looked like it had a long day? Tasted bland. And then the fries were soft - don’t know if that’s how they always are - but fries weren’t crispy and they had no flavor but salt. Fries should make you want to go back to them, these did not. They tasted like frozen fries. Only good thing about this place was the drink. Mind you all of this was during the middle of the day when it was almost empty. I was so excited to try it but this place left me...
