El Ranchito Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in South Sioux City

We've gone here for years. Always had a great experience. Good food and quick service. Tonight we ordered through DoorDash. We put in an order through their app, with menu items explicitly defined. Somehow they got our order wrong. Missing several items we ordered and other items were the wrong type. We ended up eating what they sent us because we didn't want to wait another hour. I contacted them afterwards, politely explaining the issue. I wasn't looking for a full refund or anything, but I was hoping they could take something off our bill or give us a credit or something. After about 10 minutes on the phone, they wouldn't do anything for us. They told us they couldn't refund us anything because of how we ordered and they wouldn't give us a discount for another time. Very disappointed that this is how loyal customers get treated when they've clearly made a mistake. Nothing else I can do but leave a poor review and go elsewhere next time. First of all, great parking. We have an RV, and sometimes we can't always go where we want, this accommodates any size vehicle. Walk inside, the place is huge. They have a large bar, tons of seating, very clean. Then there is a separate area for the restaurant, I can't even say how much seating is available. Let's just say, if you had a group if 30 or 40, there would still be lots of tables for seating. Now for the food and service: The staff is prompt, with fantastic attitudes. As for the food: Omg, great, amazing, wonderful. We have been hungry for Mexican food for days, and this hit the spot. Great prices, large servings, (which now we have leftovers for another meal). This place was “eh”, that’s one of the best ways I can put it. The service was not good at all, to start. Our waters were empty, we never got checked on, etc. Second, the food was nasty. I hardly write bad reviews about food, but it is just that—nasty. The enchilada sauce had a cinnamon taste to it? Last, the reason we will not be back, we all got SICK! Oh my word, it was terrible. The ones who ate the enchiladas all got sick and we were traveling—BOO! We came around 8:00 pm that night. I’m not sure if it’s because it was late and the food was left out on warmers or what (it came out abnormally fast), but seriously... not okay!
