This was a new take on classic and authentic Mexican food in Sioux City.
If you like to have preference over your food choices (I do!), this Mexican restaurant is perfect. The table-side guacamole was delicious, made just the way we wanted it. Avocados were perfectly ripe, which is hard to find. I like chunky Guac but if you don’t you can customize the tomatoes, onions, or cilantro in your guac.
I had the ceviche, which was fresh and delicious. The quality justified the price since they use mahi-mahi, and the fish was firm yet not overly marinated. I also appreciated the fresh cucumber that was added to the marinated fish. My husband had the chicken with chipotle sauce. It was fresh and healthy and I thought the portion sizes were enough to fill us up for dinner and save some to take home.
I’m super picky about margaritas since I don’t like super sweet or extra sugar added. These margaritas were fantastic, made with real fresh juices and a great selection of tequilas and mezcals.
The vibe of this restaurant is unique for Sioux City. While I love all the other Latino restaurants in town, it’s nice to have a new option that stands out.
Overall, this restaurant offers a fresh take on real Mexican food in Sioux City. The quality matches the price point, making it a great place for a delicious and satisfying meal. If you’re looking for a great dining experience, this place is...
Read moreBad service overall, food is mediocre. If you like to drink then this is your place (I can honestly say the drinks are better than the food). My parents got plates that had shrimp they only got 10 pieces of shrimp each, and they weren’t the jumbo kind…these plates were $20 each! My water tasted like soap i politely asked the waiter to please get me a new one and he looked bothered and said “why what’s wrong with it” and I told him that it tasted like soap..he responded back with “well they all are going to taste the same” I said “please can you just get me a new cup of water” he walked away angry, came back a second later with my cup and left…I took a sip and yet again tasted like soap. So he in fact didn’t change it . My parents asked for hot sauce and the waiter said they don’t have any. So either 1. They actually don’t have any hot sauce or 2. He was still mad that I asked him for a new cup of water and didn’t want to give us hot sauce. Overall, they probably don’t care so we won’t be coming back here again. Unfortunately, they have stuff to work on. Had high hopes...
Read moreWhen my husband, our three kids, and I arrived at the restaurant, we were seated fairly quickly, which was a pleasant surprise. However, we found ourselves waiting for about 7 to 9 minutes before anyone came over to take our drink orders. It felt a bit lengthy, especially with three hungry children at the table. To make matters worse, we ran out of napkins and, unfortunately, no one came to check on us. I had to get up and head over to the bar just to grab some extra napkins. As for the food, I have to say it was rather underwhelming, especially considering the prices on the menu.
