Being out of town, i found the worth of this local place in the short time that I was in the building. At the immediate opening of the door, the smell of freshly cooked Italian dishes enveloped me. The kitchen was working assiduously to prepare deep dish pizza dishes, and the back kitchen clearly was preparing dishes rich with rosemary, oregabo, and thyme.
I placed a to go order, so I cannot speak to the environment or the service. The food, however, was delicious enough to earn 4 stars. Portion size is incredible (a lunch dish could easily feed 2 people), and packed with flavor. With a local Italian restaurant, I decided to play it safe, and ordered the clam linguine with white wine sauce, expecting enough chopped clams to bring out a sense of the dish. What I received, however, was a richly decorated dish of clams in the shell, tedner chopped clams, capers, and large cuts of roasted garlic. There was ample sauce on al dente linguine, cooked to perfection. Moderately priced, this food gives you much more than you pay for.
I mentioned that this dish could feed two people, but I almost ate it all in one sitting just because of the taste. Leaving enough for dinner, I even ate it cold, and it still tasted amazing.
If ever back in this area, I will surely visit again, and try to bring others. In the meantime, I hope others try this place out...
Read moreTo say I am disappointed in this restaurant is an understatement. Our nonprofit animal rescue reserved their banquet room on a Tuesday night for our annual volunteer appreciation party. We were told it was a minimum of 30 guests when we first made the reservation. When we called back to order the food a week before the event we were then told it was a $700 minimum to spend. We were told the cost was $21 per person. This got us 5 pizzas, 1 salad, 2 trays of pasta and 4 pitchers of soda. We ran out of salad and pizza before all of the guests were able to eat. The food was subpar at best.
We had 38 guests in attendance, one was a 5-year old, yet we were charged for 42. They counted the tables & chairs rather than how many were actually seated there. At the end of the event as we handed the credit card to pay we were told we needed to pay with cash; this was never mentioned in advance of the event. We are extremely upset by the poor communication and being over charged when there wasn’t even enough food to serve everyone. I would not recommend having...
Read moreWent for lunch with my fiance's family. A couple of us just wanted sandwiches, to which we were told they were completely out of Hard rolls and that we would have to go with the inch. After about 15-20 minutes a couple comes in, sit at the table next us, and orders sandwiches. The catch: they were never told that hard rolls were unavailable. When we confront the waitress about it she replies that they just got them in. I pick up a menu to see there were 3 options to have your sandwich on instead of a hard roll. Besides for the above nonsense, the quality of the food was maybe 3.5-4 out of 5. Presentation could use some, when my fiance received her grinder, the contents were just falling out. Barely any sauce on another chicken parm grinder with somewhat over cooked chicken. Atmosphere is pretty decent though. They have this rustic Italian family restaurant style decorating with wine bottles and fake grapes on the half-walls. Never got anything from the bar so I'm not sure how...
