Update: I have dropped star rating from 4 to 3. And that is because with the pandemic, restaurants need to be extra cautious. But the owner doesn't seem to care much. I have seen him a couple of times at another store we both go to, and his mask is usually sitting on his chin. He is handling everything with bare hands, including his wallet, shopping, mask, etc. As a restaurant owner, he has additional responsibility of his patrons. Since I have seen him like that, we stopped going to his place, even though we like his food. ---------- They have improved. Ali (owner) is a fun guy but he cannot manage the kitchen alone. Last time I went, lamb was undercooked, falafel was just dry, etc. This time he had a chef working with him in the kitchen. Ali was much relaxed, there was no rushing and the food was properly done. We ordered the tray for 3 with regular and spicy chicken. Didn't take a chance on lamb tikka/chunks.

I don't often get over to South Windsor, but after a long day of hunting I found myself on Route 5 looking for some lunch. As luck would have it, I walked into Villa of Lebanon for the third time. As usual, they did not disappoint. After spending some time overseas, I found out what Middle Eastern cuisine is all about. You just can't beat the mixture of spices and flavors together all freshly cooked, or the hummus that was made from scratch instead of the mass produced and bought from your local grocery store. Then there's the baklava. While deployed I learned that not all baklava is made with walnuts in a diner. The best is actually made with pistachios, and you can get it at Villa of Lebanon. The staff is super friendly and created a carryout masterpiece for my dining pleasure. Go to Villa of Lebanon. You will not be disappointed.

We ordered the Family Platter for 5 and honestly, it could have fed 8. There were six of us at the table, all with healthy appetites, and we still ended up with half the platter left over. The portions are extremely generous, and the quality of the food really impressed us. The meats were well-seasoned and tender, especially the chicken and shawarma. The rice was fluffy, the hummus was creamy and flavorful, and the side salads were super fresh. You can tell they don’t cut corners—everything tasted homemade. This place is a hidden gem for hearty, flavorful Lebanese food. Great value for the price, and perfect if you’re dining with a group or looking for leftovers that actually hold up well the next day. Definitely recommend the family platters if you’re going with a group!

UPDATE...So I ransacked them for terrible pizza a year ago, and that hasn't changed, but I heard a friend said they have awesome gyros, which I love. So, I went back for one and I will say, they did not disappoint. They ought to stick to their strengths and focus on their ethnic dishes and get out of the business of making pizza. Why does everybody think they can make a good pie? It's just not the case!! I will upgrade to 3 stars for their gyros. INITIAL REVIEW: I live locally to this restaurant. If you are looking for Pizza...NO!! Don't even think about this place!! NO!! I'm sick and tired of seeing this restaurant as highly rated in a town where there are far better options for pizza. Looking or some sketchy restaurant to remind you of food from a third world country? Ok. Guess that's why all the 5-star reviews are all from....well, you look at the reviews and tell me if you think these folks know good pizza!! Sorry folks, but the place is dirty. Don't believe me? Do a drive by. Maybe you will see the daughter out puffing her cigarette in front of the entrance trying to keep the flies out of the food. The owner is not kind and thinks he is a king...he parks his toyota truck smack dab in front. (Hello? Customer access?) I would never even think of spending a minute in this dive. Bottom line, had delivery once without scoping the place out and it was awful. Had I done a drive by or stopped in?? No F-in Way!! Take your money and appetite to the many other quality venues in...

While the food here is actually good, the customer service is consistently awful — and today’s experience was the last straw. There are usually two guys working: one of them, the tattooed guy, tends to be more pleasant and helpful. But the other, a tanner guy (possibly Arab), is always rude. Every time I’ve had to deal with him, he’s had an attitude, like he’s doing you a favor by acknowledging your order. I was told my pizza would be ready in 20 minutes. It takes me 10–15 minutes to get there, so I figured I’d just wait the extra few minutes once I arrived. I ended up waiting a full 20 minutes after I got there, and the pizza still wasn’t ready. No apology, no communication — just a look like, “Why are you here?” I told him I was fine to wait, and instead of giving any decent response, he acted annoyed and dismissive. It honestly feels like he hates his job — and it shows. When the owner is around, things are much more professional and organized. But when he’s not, the vibe completely changes. I really wanted to like this place because of the food, but the lack of basic courtesy and respect is just too much. Good food can’t make up for consistently...

I really liked this place up till today. We ordered ahead for take out but they gave us the wrong food. We asked for extra sauce on the phone order and the person on the line said that it was okay. When he forgot, we asked about the sauce and the worker gave us attitude. The plastic utensils were in a pile at the utensils dispenser which looked as if other customers must have rummaged through. The restuarant is small but all the customers were crammed inside, definitely not 6 ft apart. None of the restuarant employees were wearing masks and neither were the other patrons. There was also one person who was eating at a table inside the restaurant. There was food sprawled across the tables that anyone could have walked passed and sneezed or cough on. Also, an employee had gloves on that he was handling food and touching other surfaces with. Really disappointed that I won't be coming back after this experience. We also decided to throw the food alway because we were afraid it was contaminated with how dirty the restaurant looked. Lost $27 but that's better than losing my life during the pandemic to...
