Fancy Bagels Xpress — Restaurant in Southington

I had a terrible first experience here today. Went in and they were very busy so I was totally ready to wait and be understanding. However, the long line turned out to be people waiting for their food who had already ordered. None of the workers asked if anyone needed to order. Then I went up to the counter and asked to order a half dozen bagels. The girl who was working said “ no sorry we can’t do a half dozen bagels” with no other explanation. I looked at the menu confused because a half dozen bagels is an option. I said “can I do a dozen then?” She said “no”. So finally I inferred that they were running low on bagels. So I said “how many can I have” and she said “I can do 4” so I ordered 4 and 2 coffees. She rang me up and I realized that I never bought cream cheese to go with it (and she didn’t remind me). I grabbed the other girl who was working there and asked if I could order cream cheese since we forgot in the last transaction and she rang me up. It came out to $4 … she said “just so you know there’s a $5 minimum for card”. This made me mad because I had already ordered over $5 worth in the last transaction. Also they didn’t offer me a knife, didn’t offer to cut the bagels, and didn’t provide napkins. TERRIBLE customer service and food quality! I’m surprised this place has not been shut down with the way it is being run! For starters I see no one wears gloves when cooking the food, I had seen the girl chef drop a bagel and serve it anyway! Not only that but the staff is extremely careless when it comes to taking care of their customers/do not make sure everyone is set with their orders. The three times I have been in there it has been a total mess, staff arguing and no organization. I tried to call an order in multiple times and no one would pick up they blamed it on “having a long line”. I have worked in the food industry and am VERY understanding usually but it seems like all the owner does is make up excuses! I was not going to leave a review rather just never go back. But when I was in there a couple days ago I was mind blown and fed up with how they treat their business and customers. Hope they can do better if not shut down! My daughter and I had been at a different bagel shop in nearby Cheshire, were ignored, and so I searched for a different shop because we both had bagels on our mind. Fancy Bagel was the closest. I’m so happy we decided to come here. We were welcomed with warm smiles and such a cute atmosphere. I ordered the salt with cream cheese and my daughter had a chocolate chip with butter. We chatted with the staff and I told them about the bad experience we just had. The manager or owner then put together a small sample bag of their different bagels for us to take home. How kind! We then sat outside and enjoyed the picnic tables and my daughter played some cornhole that they have set up. We will definitely be back!!! So glad we found this cute and...
