I've been to a few different bowling alleys in the last couple of years... While there are certainly others that have up to date technology to utilize... Apple Valley Bowl looks as though it was lost in time. But I have to say, I still loved the entire vibe of the place. While the scoring is done electronically it's not as new as other places. The overall feel is old-timey in my opinion. But don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed being here and consider this to be a gem & can't wait to return!
The three different employees that I met were all so very kind and sweet. The woman behind the counter was wonderful and so accommodating. We had paid for two games with a Groupon offer and ended up having to leave after the first one due to our youngest child beginning to have behavior issues... The woman didn't bat an eye as I told her and she proceeded to hand me 4 free game cards to utilize next time we go. This was something she definitely didn't have to do, but she has no idea how much I appreciated this. We have lost so much money over the years due to having to leave places early because of our child having behavior issues that required us to leave early and out of all them this was the first time ever that an employee was empathetic about it.
The gentleman that was doing a little bit of everything was also so incredibly nice. He certainly looked as though he was overworked. If I had to guess he might be the owner. He literally was doing it all. He was so involved with the customers and helped with anything that was asked of him.
There was also a young lady working at the food bar that I had asked for a pitcher of water, she was super sweet! While standing there I decided to grab a large pizza. It took about 10 minutes to come out. While it wasn't anything to write home about, it served it's purpose and made two hungry little girls, a hungry husband and myself happy and able to each have 3 slices.
Overall wonderful spot. We did use a coupon from Groupon. I will definitely...
Read moreI went for a family bowling party. We had a good time bowling but there seemed to be technical issues with machinery as bowling balls got stuck a few times and four balls ended up getting eaten up by the machinery.
It was most important my family had a fun time. The older woman who was bartending I didn’t get her name but she had blue/greenish hair. Was the rudest bartender I ever met. I went back a few times to get drinks for my family and we all were met with an attitude and even though she already got my ID and put a wrist band on me she was giving me a very hard time getting more drinks. And when she was out of a drink we asked for she was very rude about it and didn’t make any suggestions of an alternative just glared at me with a dirty look on her face. And then she asked for my ID again and we clearly heard her ask again for my ID and once I took it out she gave me more attitude and said “No. I need your money!” Then I told her I wasn’t done ordering and she gave out a big sigh and acted if I was such an inconvenience to her just trying to order a couple drinks.
I went there to have fun with family and I’m happy for the time I spent with them. But with how the bartender treated us that is more than enough reason to deter people...
Read moreWe were there for the State USBC Open Tournament. The bowling center seemed unprepared. There was a lot of equipment and boxes staged on the wall near the lowest numbered lanes. This could have been cleaned up prior to the tournament to present a better face. Some menu items in the small kitchen were not available due to poor stocking. The kitchen seemed understaffed as there were long waits for ordered meals. Since the tournament kicked off at 9am, more breakfast choices should have been made available. The bowling area behind the lanes was cramped and there was little room for the bowlers and their equipment, or for spectators/visitors. The only chairs available for spectators was the extra unattached chair from some of the tables attached to the lanes. There were no doors on the rest rooms and too much of the interior was exposed to the passer by. On a positive note, the entire staff was friendly and accommodating. The USBC should reevaluate whether these lanes are suitable and/or adequate for such an important tournament that draws visitors from...
