I’ve been going here since 2016. Prior to the Covid pandemic I would have given this place 5 stars on every visit.
Since Covid, the prices have skyrocketed. I don’t mean at the same rate as groceries, I mean the price is 40% higher now for “all you can eat”. The quality of the service and the food have gone way down too.
Any soup you order will taste burnt, bitter and acrid. This is likely from a burnt bottom on a stock pot that hasn’t been properly scraped clean in a few years. That’s been going on since 2020 as well. If you’ve ever had any sort of miso or hibachi soup elsewhere, you’ll be able to taste that something is seriously wrong here.
Your waitress will bring you a piece of paper and return that paper to the chefs. They’ll bring your food out. They won’t ask you how your meal is or offer you a refill on your drink. You’ll need to stand up and ask for refills, or wave your hands like a child to get their attention.
If you elect not to tip at least 20%, you should fully expect the hostess and your waitress to follow you to your car questioning you about it, in spite of their lack of effort in anything else. I recently put $20 in for the sushi chefs and nothing for the waitress/hostess and was asked not to come back.
I used to come eat here once a month, maybe a little less. Now it’s been 5 months and I’m craving sushi but I know this place is a waste of money now.
The sushi itself is still good, but the side dishes are clearly being made with cheaper ingredients and little care. The seaweed salad now comes with large chunks of chewy artificial crab, as an example. The spicy mayo is sweet now as well, which is typical of American jars of spicy mayo. The sushi being good is why this is a two star review...
Read moreVery disappointed. We loved this place and it is always packed, but we went tonight and had a really bad experience. We both filled out our sushi tickets and one woman came by and grabbed mine but left my husbands. A few minutes later another woman came by to grab fill up my water and grabbed my husbands sushi ticket. Some time later I got my soup and salad. And edamame. My husband had requested soup and salad as well, but his didn’t come. Then my plate of sushi arrived, just two rolls. I waited for a bit but my husband still hadn’t revived his food so we started eating mine, assuming his would arrive shortly. It never did. We asked after it. And they went in search of it but couldn’t seem to locate the ticket. Finally after all my food was finished and we had waited over an hour my husband said forget it, we will just take the bill. The bill they brought us included the price for BOTH meals. Normally we would not have minded any of these issues. They were VERY busy tonight, and of course forgetting to take the meal we never received off the ticket is understandable. Except the manager came back to us THREE times after that insisting that two servers saw us with two meal plates. We explained multiple times that if they saw my husband eating, it was bc he was helping me with my meal as he NEVER received his. But they kept insisting, basically accusing us of lying. It was very frustrating to say the least bc we really did like this place, but it’s definitely put us off this place for a long time. Maybe even forever.
Food that we did get was tho, it’s just not worth it to us to go back and risk basically being accused of stealing after having such poor service in the...
Read moreSassy Business Owner: My experience started a little off because the waiter taking care of us didn't greet us or seemed friendly, instead he threw the chopsticks and napkins on the table. Which was a little off putting... He proceeds to ask for our drink order, comes back and starts once again "throwing" the drinks on the table making a mess in the process and left with out a word. It takes about maybe ten minutes and my siblings and I order, my mom doesn't since she wasn't that hungry she'd pick off of our plates... Food wasn't that great and the portions were small. My sister ended up just getting a SINGLE piece of sushi so I figured I'd ask the waiter to see if we can change it and charge us only for the piece of sushi as opposed for the "all you can eat" which is $22.95. When we got the check after speaking to the Owner they ended up charging us for three "all you can eat" meals and $5 for the single piece of sushi. I explained to the owner that the only thing my mom ordered was a drink which was a water, my sister with a single piece and soda, and my brother and I brother for the meals since we did get a lot of sushi. To say the least the Owner got really sassy and started to raise her voice at us - in the middle of the restaurant - telling us that we lied and let my mother eat off of our plates; so she would get charged the full price of $22.95. I didn't want to argue any further so I paid the price and I'm NEVER going back. BE WARNED; service isn't great, they're stingy with serving their food as they're with you being able to share it AND to put the cherry on top the Owner isn't ...
