AJ's Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Southside

Not a bad place, not great but good, if I lived in Southside I might visit there everyone end then. But being on the other end of Rainbow City I'd pass 3 or 4 places with better food and more reasonable pricing to get there. Like I said AVERAGE no special trips to get there. Not sure if id go out of the way to get there. People aren't really the nicest or friendliest, kinda got the feeling they were doing me a favor just waiting on me. No personalities that'd make it memorable or attempt to make me feel welcome and appreciated and as a former Restaurant manager of 12 years the customer makes the business not the other way around,, they ever get there it could be improved and hopefully it will. It's definitely not like Cheers where everybody knew your name or tried to be. That's it I'm not sure I felt welcomed or appreciated enough it was a unmemorable experience due to the lack of smiles and friendliness it lacked. Food was fantastic found out they use local distributions and butcher and you could tell by the food. We also got Cheesecake to go , wished I knew how phenomenal it was gonna be definitely would have gotten two slices. Great service and we went on Sunday an hour before close. We weren't rushed or anything. Plus our order was taken quickly, food arrived pretty quick and tasty. Highly recommend! The food is very overpriced for the quality and quantity. $15.99 for a bland burger and fries is way too much. The only good thing about it was that the bun was toasted. The atmosphere is probably the only thing that will keep this place afloat if things don’t change with their food. We have eaten at Longhorn Steakhouse for cheaper and a lot better food!
