The place almost looked abandoned when we pulled up and were immediately confused by the 4.2 star google rating. Clearly has not been taken care of or properly cleaned yet this year...if not the last few years. The parking lot is overgrown with weeds, the outside of the building was dirty, seating area has old rusted uneven benches sitting on a concrete platform that has countless forgotten about spills and god knows what on it accented with a trash can that hasn't been sprayed down or replaced since the early 2000s.....regretted asking my toddler to throw out his trash immediately. The boy working at the counter seemed annoyed that we were there and rushed us to order. We got a burger, turkey Swiss & avocado sandwich, grilled cheese and fries. None of which was worth the money. I had brought my bland sandwich back to the counter because the avocado was grey and had almost black spots on it. I talked to one of the girls who was pleasant and had no problem giving me a refund but didnt know how so she asked the counter boy how to and he immediately had an attitude and tried to give me a replacement instead...yeah no thanks. Our 3 year old had to use the bathroom and as I walked through the restaurant to bring him I noticed the metal all behind the counter was covered in splatters and streak marks from cleaning with dirty rags. Got into the bathroom and I might as well have just had him pee in the parking lot. The bathroom was covered in dust, cob webs and random liquids running down the walls and toilet. Speaking of walls, they looked like the wavey fun house mirrors you'd see in the fair. The tiles on the floor were coming up and if it had been mopped recently it was probably with the same mop they'd been using to clean up kitchen grease for tge last few months. I dont usually come at small businesses like this but im genuinely concerned we are going to get sick after eating here. The only positive thing about this place was the counter girl and the bread was delicious but being made in that place I'm regretting liking it. It's ashamed because it could be such a cool spot but I guess the owners dont...

Ok, so this is going to be a very fair review. I'd give it one star myself, but my mother really liked it so I added a star for her. The guy standing behind the counter was standoff-ish and offered no help while we tried to figure out what was what on the menu. We ended up ordering the chicken strips and tator tots. The place was run down as are many mom and pop cafes, but it was also very dirty. Tator tots are deep fried, very crunchy and no flavor, but they were not greasy so that's a plus. I ate one and passed on the rest. My mother, an OTR driver that has eaten at several of these cafes and truckstops over the years, liked them. The chicken strips were also deep fried. I tried a bite but passed on eating more. Dry, flavorless and crunchy. My husband, who was raised on bar food and terrible Midwest cooking (Midwest cooking can be great, but there is also a very bland, deep-fried habit they have too) So, I eat burgers and fried food from restaurants and would never consider myself a 'healthy eater', but this was too unhealthy and bland to enjoy. I don't feel it's deserving of all those stars, but some will love it,...

I have been stoping by there when traveling through for years now. They have always had a great meal. We stopped on our way through today being a Sunday it wasn't busy. We noticed 2 employees and a young man flirting and carrying but they stopped long enough for us to place our order. At that time the flirting continued at a rather loud and annoying level. As we sat trying to enjoy our meal we started to notice ALOT. Starting with the cleanliness was terrible. Very subpar!! Floors, tables and trash receptacle was very dirty and made us second guess our choice of lunch stop. We then started to critique the quality of food and decided it too has gone downhill from our last visit approx a year ago. Remember we've been stopping there for years. Unfortunately we will probably stop down in town to one of the new establishments that are maintained and quality standards upheld. So sad to see such an "iconic" establishment lose its appeal on these grounds. We will miss the and already do miss the quality of the Little Acorn in...

The Acorn was right off the highway ne t to the gas station. The team here was kind and helpful while my children tried to distract me during the ordering process. The peach milkshake was like nothing I've ever tasted and so creamy rich. We tried the Philly steak sandwich, which was delicious, and we also tried the unique teriyaki chicken sandwich. Both had big pieces of tender meat. The classic burger 🍔 was exactly what you want from any good old snackin' spot. Our new friend behind the register had some suggestions for local activities. Thankful we got to stop by for some homemade grub that isn't a big food chain.

Driving cross-country, you get real tired of fast food. Especially fast food burgers. Oftentimes, veering off the path of corporate victuals means spending a lot more money on something that might actually taste worse. This place reeked me in with the promise of bread baked in-house. Why not, you know? Pleasantly surprised with the well-executed simplicity of this particular burger. Super crispy, well-seasoned fries. All at a comparable cost to something you’d resort to ordering from a chain, while looking and tasting like food made by actual human hands.
