On July 31st 2015, my friend and I went into O'Neils for a couple of drinks. We sat at the bar & there were two bartenders, one was a heavy set woman (unable to remember her name), and a guy named Josh. We were served right away; which was great! So thinking that since we got served fairly quickly, we expected to be asked for another drink after we finished our first one. Well that definitely was not the case and thats when the service went from great, to horrible and so unprofessional! After having an empty glass for a good 10 minutes and watching the couple next to us get served several times, I finally asked the woman bartender if we could get a few more drinks. She didnt even turn her head and looked out of the corner of her eye and put up a finger. Was this her way of telling me to hold on for yet more time in which she had already been blatantly ignoring us?! She could have just given us the middle finger, since her lack of professional experience was clearly not on her agenda for the day. Since her attitude was so horrible and her lack of customer service was crap, I finally got Josh's attention and asked if he could make us a couple of moscow mules. My buddy and I had never tried them before and the people next to us recommended them because of how they tasted and how the copper mug keeps them very cold. I've heard that the copper mug is what is the true signature of the mixed drink, so who wouldn't want it in the copper mug?! Well, apparently Josh didn't think we needed them in a copper mug and decided to make ours and put them into regular glasses. I asked if we could get the drink in the copper mugs and he said they were out of them. Knowing that the copper mugs are the signature of the drink, he should have told us prior and maybe suggested a different drink in the mean time until some came available. I told him we no longer wanted the drinks and we walked out. Very poor customer service and "product knowledge," the two very important skills to run any business. My first experience at O'Neils was clearly unforgettable and very...
Read moreFirst couple time we went there, after the remodel, they had a ribeye steak on the menu that was quite good. Now there is no ribeye, only a 6oz sirloin for a whopping $18.00, or a TBone Special for $30, both overpriced. Back in October we went for my son's birthday. I had the steak salad. It was pretty good, but a little short on quantity of steak for the price. The burgers the other had look like frozen patties out of the box. Most recently were just there last weekend. I had the French Dip type sandwich made out of Ribeye... supposedly, what little there was of it. The meat was overdone to the point of being burnt and the amount of meat was maybe 4 ounces, which was dwarfed by the large bun. I sent it back in favor of the Philly, which my wife also ordered. This was slightly better, again with a very small quantity of meat, some of which was overdone. She found it mediocre at best as well. I think most everything there comes prepared or frozen out of the box. I ate it, because there comes a point where you just are hungry and accept it. The waitresses at least took half the cost of my sandwich off. There have been other times I have been there that the food was also less than I would expect. Also, the menu is limited and doesn't have much variety if you are looking for a nice dinner. In the past I had the pizza, which was very good. Don't think I will be eating there again any time soon, until they revise the boring menu and improve the quality of the food. The place has lots of potential, I wish they would...
Read moreMy wife and I came through on a Saturday in late June, right at 5:00 pm, and things were just picking up. There was a nice outdoor patio with maybe a dozen tables to accomodate 4-8 at each. The inside had a bar room which was a little louder but at the time had a wedding party celebrating. The dinning area that was what it needed to be, a little bot of hussle and bussle but overall a quaint space. The booth benches were maybe a 6 out of 10 comfort but the lack of bench comfort wes diminished by the service and food. Our waitress was prompt and considerate, never left us waiting but never made us feel rushed. We ordered some Old Fashions to start, for the price I could not complain. Last but not least the food. I had the parmesan crusted walleye sandwich with house chips (pictured) the bread was soft and pillowy, the fish was phenomenal! The house potatoe chips were really worth it, I looked through 165+ photos online and nothing showed what the chips looked like so I hope my image helps. The fish was lightly breaded, suculant and tender. I had my doubts, as I usually do when it comes to fish, but I was more than pleasently suprise. My wife had the steak tip salad and I can't speak for her but she aite it up! She ordered a side of sweet potatoe fries and they were also nothing to shake a stick at. Overall, 5 out of 5 I would revommend based on...
