My mom and I were meeting an old friend at this place a couple weeks back. Chose this place because the food looked really good in the pics posted online. My mom and I show up around 6 pm on a Tuesday. There's one customer in the whole place sitting at the bar. Older gentleman with a beard seats us at a 4 top while we wait for our friend. While waiting, he came up to us about 3 times asking what we wanted to drink. We kept telling him that we didn't know and were waiting for the rest of our party to show up. A few minutes later, our friend shows up and sits down with us. He comes back literally right after she sits down and asks for our drinks again (this had to have been 4 times in the span of 6 minutes). My mom gets a tea, our friend gets a coke, and I ask if they have Dr. Pepper to which he replies "no we have coke, we're mainly a bar" in a snarky tone. He brings out the drinks, we order our food, and we receive our food. The food was pretty good. Fairly priced for what you get and tasty. As we were nearing the end of our meal, homeboy starts clearing our plates one by one as soon as we look like we're done. Then, he kept coming up to us after that asking if we need anything else. At this point I thought maybe he was just bored because it was a slow night. Thats when I heard the other guy standing behind the bar make a joke to him as he walked back to the bar. The other man said "how about some to-go boxes" and chuckled with the first guy, clearly making a joke about not wanting us in their "bar" anymore. I forgot to mention that at some point while we were there, that one guy that was at the bar when we first came in had left and no one else ever came in while we were there. The whole time we ate and chatted with our friend we hadn't seen in years, both of the men working that night kept staring in our direction with displeased looks on their faces. We felt unwanted the whole time we were there. Not sure if it's because we didn't order any beers or wine (which seemed to be the only alcohol they had in this "bar") but we were still paying customers and felt like our business was not welcome. Will not be coming back...
Read moreThe place isn’t large, the menu consists of appetizers, soups, and salads. The food is delicious though.
This wasn’t my first visit, but one of my friends really wanted us to try their feta ranch. It was definitely a highlight. But what was even better…the garlic mayo they put on their C.B.G.B sandwich.
One friend ordered their Club Salad with the feta ranch. She really liked it. The salad looked fresh and the eggs were even cooked perfectly (not a single hint of grey). They give you a really good amount of dressing and if it wasn’t so tasty, you would probably have more than you need.
My other friend and I went with their C.B.G.B. sandwich with a side salad. I absolutely love their bacon Gorgonzola tomato soup, but I had to give their feta ranch a try.
The next time I go, it’s going to be even more difficult to choose what to order. Everything I have had has been delicious, but I really think I will be dreaming about that garlic mayo (it’s that good).
They do have several wines, beers, ciders, seltzers, and even Mead to choose from. — at Jake & Clay's...
Read moreWe went to Jake & Clay's after a recommendation from a local training opportunity and they did not disappoint! We all had beautifully presented food that was delicious! The service was great and none of us left a bite on our plates.
I had a chicken alfredo dish made with sun dried tomatoes and mushrooms and I would drive the hour to have it again some time; so good!
I will say, one member in our party was sad there were no desserts as listed on their menu board but when we asked, the owner said "Mom wrote that" and I am not sure if that meant it had sentimental value and was not changed or what but I have seen other reviews mention their bread pudding being good so hopefully we can try that next time.
Other mentionings, I drive a full size truck and was able to park but there were limited spaces due to neighboring businesses and of course, like most places these days, they are lined for sedans and smart cars. The pub is relatively small but they have made good use of what space they have. Service was friendly and the...
